VERBAL

About Me

It's been nearly 8 years since Boris Veres aka Verbal started his first musical experiments on his computer. While learning saxophone and music theory on elementary art school he began to write his own music in various programs. Back then it was mostly breaks, jungle or house. Later Verbal gradually fell in love with techno and also focused his production on techno music. It was at that time when he came accross DJing. In 2002 he got his first pair of decks and started practicing mixing. He played out on some local parties where he could practice his skills in front of small audience. A revolution happens upon his introduction to drum&bass. It was Roni Size's New Forms and Breakbeat Era's album what got him mad for d'n'b. Since then Verbal has only been making mostly drum&bass music and performed on many gigs in Slovakia. Inspired and influenced by artists such as Ed Rush & Optical, Teebee, Bad Company, Konflict, Break, Sinthetix and many many others he never stops refining his production skills and develop his own sound. Dark atmosphere combined with catchy riffs and heavy beats is what characterizes most of his songs. Verbal, however, doesn't write only drum&bass music. Besides drum&bass he enjoys listening to breaks, triphop, nu-jazz, but also minimal, house and even some rock music. That's why he makes different music as well when caught in the mood. Verbal currently studies sound design on Academy of Music and Performing Arts in Bratislava. His tune called Exorcist has been recently signed by upcoming dutch drum&bass label Symptom Audio, a division of well-known Syndrome Audio. Plans for the future involve recording and cooperation with other musicians and artists. Stay tuned!
