My musical evolution has taken me to currently playing dirty jackin' fidget house, tho I do mix it up with other styles, with the experience I've from playing for about 5 years now. Starting with trance then quickly moving onto hard house is where I learnt my skills, complementing that with funky house and techno. Though it lasted a long time, it couldnt last forever and I left behind those to start playing electro, which was a short path to lead me to my current state with the jackin beats. Playing at different nights around leicester and the midlands I've got the experience and feel much more comfortable in the DJ booth than on the dancefloor (DJ's dont dance do they?)
Promotion was a bit of an accident really, being asked by a friend to run his night, we re-named it Hooked, and the journey began. Prodominantly a hard house night at the gone but not forgettin attik, it ran its pumping course, but as always, tastes changed, and a new style was required. A new venue, now after hours, and a mainly electro feel, Savvy was born. As an after hours party Savvy was very successful very quickly, filling up its venue every first sunday morning of the month.
Time has moved on now though, and the team that created Savvy has had to split due to musical differences. The new project is 'Mind the Gap' which aims to bring new underground dance music to a new city for me, Nottingham. Its primarily fidget house, with breaks and other types of modern dance music as support. Check out the page in my friends to keep up with who's playing and when!
