About Me

I have formed a new political party

The Dinosaur Party is dedicated to pursuit of the ideals our forefathers laid down, principally, the pursuit of knowledge for the purpose of national stability and economic gain.Go check it out.

My Interests

Include: Books, Skiing, Tai Chi, Taoism, Theatre, Playing, Electronica, Biochemistry, Wine, stuff

I'd like to meet:

Smartasses and smart people. People who ask for what they need, but try to need less in general. People who are into theatre, biochemistry, intellectualism and/or books and want to talk about them. People who want to give me a job in either theatre or biotech. If anyone has a stable full of horses and wants to give me some refresher lessons, I certainly wouldn't complain.

I'd also like to meet Skiing buddies, and drinking buddies. If you wanted to combine those two, we could work it out.

If you've got a pulse and you're excited about something, chances are we have at least one thing in common at any given moment, and you should drop me a line.

Music:

Pearl Jam, Tori Amos, STP, Moby, Portishead, Massive Attack, Bach, POTUSA, Violent Femmes, Frank Black...
I also like the Long Winters, if you know who they are. I think Deathcab is OK, too.
I'm not picky. If it doesn't have words, make it build, and change it before I get bored. I can't say I'm a huge fan of most country.
I also like the Rent! soundtrack, even though I hate musicals. I don't particularly feel bad about that, either.

Movies:

Amelie, City of Lost Children, Last Boyscout, 5th Element, Pay It Forward, American Beauty, Adventures of Baron Von Munchausen, Omaha:The Movie, Tank Girl, Drop Dead Fred, Labyrinth, Last Unicorn

Television:

Scrubs I guess. I also watch a lot of sports, but I swear I can take it or leave it.

I used to LOVE MTV's Liquid Television and Comedy stuff. The State, The Maxx, and Aeon Flux kicked serious ass.

OH yeah, and reality television is symbolic (strike that, it is the epitome) of all things evil about television and corporate america, I hate it.

Books:

Time Enough For Love, Dune, Ender's Game ... you may notice a trend.

I also read books about things I'm interested in; currently I am slogging my way through a Qi Gong book, that attempts to put it together with anatomy and some science. It's cool, but VERY dense.

I'm also reading a wine tasting book. I hate it when you dislike the author of a book, but you want to keep reading it because the information is useful. The guy is a total narcissist, and keeps explaining how much he knows about wine, and how smart he is. I just want the info. Bastard.

Heroes:

The Tick, Tank Girl, The Blue Rajah and of course, The Shoveler and the Maxx, while I'm thinking about it

I don't aspire to hero worship, it's just a stupid way to give yourself self-esteem issues.

Tilting at windmills

Everyone's doing it.  "What?!?", you might ask, "I never think of windmills as dragons, that'd be just plain crazy".   That's true.  People who decide that windmills are dragons ...

*sniff* what's that I smell?

Deuling Banjos So I'm sitting in the airport, listening to techno music through my headphones, while magically connected to the internet by "Comfort Inn South" (I'm pretty sure there's no comfort i...

I hate stress

I am also continually amazed at my inability to express basic interest in other people. The only ones who pick up on it are the ones as laid back and quiet, like me. If I had dinosaurs, though, it...

Dinosaur Party Manifesto 1:

This is the first in an ongoing series. As many of you may be aware, our country is in need of a level political playing field.  The only equitable way to acheive this is by the creation of mult...

What do you want when you go out dancing?

I guess I'm just unclear on the way women look at clubs.Or maybe I am, but I don't want to be.  At any rate, I go out, I am enjoying my music, and there seems to be a distinct division.  Those who are...

Failed at one a day

But We'll try again. I'm mostly just chillin' nowadays.  I rediscovered my dislike of going to clubs for any reason.  Maybe it's because I don't really want to pick a girl up at a club, so...

The World stood still

Or maybe I just walked real fast. I was enjoying some good Ska music, and a thought occured to me, as I watched couples, prospective couples, and assorted others roam the room, looking deeply into th...

I ain't got noboooooody...

no-body, no-body. Well, I'm beginning to fit in in the big K-town, except I have this unnerring desire to sit at home and watch TV. Which is what I should not be doing. In fact, while I'm typing ...

Crappy spellingness

I apparently can't spell. At least when I type fast. Right now, there's an incredibly annoying red flashy banner at teh top of the screen, and it's pissing me off. However, here's what I have to sa...
