Keith Burke is a special kind of songwriter. His blend of simple lyrics and melodies connect him freely to his audience. Each song is a ticket to a world of observation. It is in his friendly singing style and smooth guitar accompaniment that much of his appeal lies.

Keith grew up in the Dublin coastal town of Skerries. At the age of 10 his father gave him a turntable with a small suitcase full of LPs, instantly adding albums by the Beatles, Paul Simon and Ben E King to his collection. Dedicated to his art, Keith has held a varied range of jobs to support his love of making music. Computer Programmer, Tango Dance Instructor, Film Extra, English Teacher and (of course) bar room Guitar Player are all jobs that Keith has held allowing him share his music with his public. More recently, he did the voice of Rafael Benitez on today FM’s Gift Grub.
Formerly guitarist and singer with the Ken Baxter band in Dublin, Keith achieved critical success with the band for their album, “The Dancer who Stole your Shoesâ€. In 2004 they received the coveted Hotpress “Pick of the fortnightâ€. The Ken Baxter had radio play on RTE 1, NewsTalk and considerable play on local Dublin radio stations. In 2004 they were invited to play concerts in Italy and later three dates in the 2005 Guinness Cork Jazz festival.
In 2007 Keith set out to use the knowledge he gained during a Masters Degree in Music Technology to record his new album “No One Wants to Moveâ€. He enlisted the help of engineer Bobby Boughton and invited a range of talented guest musicians to play on the tracks. Completed in late 2007, “No One Wants to Move†is on course for launch in summer of 2008. Time was also spent assembling the band, the Goods, who stage an impressive accompanying live show.
Keith’s lyrics often bear his soul, opening a window, which allows us to see our part in the stories. The new collection of songs share inclusive and upbeat sentiments. Sit back, dim the lights, kick off your shoes and enjoy!
