About Me

The Rhythm Story. End of the day drum circles at Black Point Renaissance Faire. Three families became one called Muthas Drummers and became a bi-weekly percussion gathering. The family grew and we became the life of Livermore, California. An AIDS benefit, and jam sessions at Dragon Bytes, trying to spread the word and ease our suburban blues, we set off to San Diego. People responded well to our first shows, but then there were artistic differences. Muthas Drummers went different paths and even today are just starting to think about healing those wounds. A few of us collectively became Drummers of Guild St. A.B.E. We recorded a live millennium show, and it became our first CD, Rhythm Stories. Our second CD, Head Food, followed four years later. A.B.E. has one rule, ALWAYS RECORD LIVE, meaning no studio work. We will always be a drum circle. We are a free form flux of drummers, shakers, and mischief makers with varied interests, cultures, and inspiration. We support independent art and improvisational music. We teach that everyone must listen to each other, and find rhythms that we can all dance to. ONE VOICE ONE LOVE ONE CAUSE The Voice of Guild St. A.B.E.
