The Dead Man's Shoes

Don't follow in our footsteps....

About Me

The Dead Man's Shoes first formed in 2003 under the name of The Karma Dons. After modest success across the net where we distributed 500+ promo CD's worldwide we decided to try & take it all a bit more seriously. We regrouped in the summer of '04 and after a slight change in the original line-up, we found ourselves to have more control in the direction we wanted to go musically. The end result being a far more edgier, off-beat sound than we once had with The Karma Dons. We are currently experimenting with guitars & live drums to gain a fuller sound than perhaps we use to have. Keep watching this space!!

JACK KNIFE'S KNOWN HISTORY:
Started djing in 1990, played mainly House, Acid, Techno & Jungle. Played at numerous parties & clubs in the London area as a member of The Stoned Posse. Left London in the autumn of '93 to pursue a better life in the north-west of England. Discovered computers & the net & realised the potential of a global audience. Still dj's for own pleasure but now concentrates more on making tunes rather than playing them!!

TOMMY GUNN'S KNOWN HISTORY:
I have always appreciated the darker side of music, both in lyrical content & over all musical sound. For this reason I pretty much only used to listen to Rock & Grunge music, particularly Nirvana & Radiohead. I was influenced by what Jack was doing & playing at the time and I liked the idea of combining the two musical styles/interests together. This will be more obvious when we upload our next offering!!

ANNE GRENADE'S KNOWN HISTORY:
My mum was a piano teacher and my dad played in a band, so I thought it only right to follow in there shoes!! I enroled at a school of music when I was 8 years old, learning to play the clarinet and tenor saxaphone both classical and jazz. A highlight was when I played soprano sax for the Duke and Duchess of Kent!! I also had classical singing lessons performing on Radio 5, toured Europe with a choir and a swing band which was fun!!
I've always been open minded when it comes to music and I love to experiment with different sounds and styles, from Chopin to the Chemical Brothers, Tchaikovsky to Tricky I embrace it all!!!!
