Hi there! I'm Sassy O' I've been an entertainer my whole life...I can't think of a moment when I didn't want to be on stage...Doing SOMETHING, but mostly MUSIC has been what drives me...I've been known to go into a severe funk without being creative with music, painting, or writing........ I was born and raised in Royal Oak Michigan, ( five miles from Detroit, if you're driving on Woodward Avenue.) I've been in MANY different bands throughout the years, being a lead singer, and creator of strange noises. The first band O'Jam started when I was 13, with Jon Bouda, (guitar,) Keith Collins, (bass, may he R.I.P) and Woody Saunders (Drums. He later played on Brendan Benson's album, "One Mississippi," but later In life I found out about Peanut 23. Very cool band, they have a space here, check em' out!) We played covers way back then, and I had a blast doing it with the coolest guys on Earth.... The second band happened when I was 15, and 16, we practiced in downtown Detroit, and recorded some, but I have no idea where any of it is. Around that same time, is when I first had a taste of "Improv." I was 16, spending time at a blues bar in Hamtramk, ( home of kawalski sausage, ) that would let me drink. They'd blues jam "all night long," and I'd go up on stage with them and sing what came to the top of my head, all night long! Ha! Later I'd do the same thing, with all the musical friends I could find. (Improvisational jams happen naturally in "The Metro" area, but I'll find it anywhere I can. ) The third band happened when I was 19 called "Sound Corporation". We were our own sound. I truly think we would have stayed together, if not for the death of our bass player. (May he rest in peace.) We recorded a demo in Dave Feeny's, ( before Tempermill, ) basement, and a single vinyl was later created on John Davies, (the guitar player's,) record, (now porn,) label. ( Check out "Superbitch")..After that I tried out for various bands, and had projects going on and off, but none of them lasted, or became anything, until I moved to Hollywood in 1995, and formed a band with some more high school buddies, ( Dan Borden, Andre Comeau, Dan Holeman, and Mike Riley,) who lived there. It was called "HEAVY LIQUID" (We have a page on myspace if you want to hear what it was.) I still miss the magic of that band, but, it got hard to keep drummers, and bass players, and ahhh!!!..Same song. Gotta keep moving..I moved to Eugene Oregon in 2000, ( with whom was my fiance' at the time,) Steve "Froth" Frothingham of Bigelf fame. He helped record some of my songs, recorded Heavy Liquid's demo, and also filled in on drums at the time. Now I still live in Eugene, ( but REALLY want to move! Ha! Nothing against Eugene, it's just that I'm from Detroit Rock City, and damn it! I NEED THE CITY LIFE!!! Everything shuts down way too early, the pace is VERY slow, and pizza sucks! Sorry, but so true! I gotta have good pizza! ) My main band now is ALPHA DAHLIA (formerly,The CoStars...) I write most of the songs, play guitar, do lead, and backing vocals, play keyboards, and made space noises on my Theremin. ( Which most musicians won't tolerate, so I sold it Ha! ) Check us out by clicking on my top friends list, also check out my former band. "SIRENS OF MOTHRA" ( all girl band who's members are from various bands in town here, Dead Americans, Ginger Hustlers, & Telepathic Dumpster.) HOT DRAMA! Is my other band now, with Gina Kontur, (former member of The Ginger Hustlers, and Sirens of Mothra. Her other band now is Fancy Bandits, who are also former members of Sirens Of Mothra.) and Darling Jeff plays drums for Hot Drama, ( he's in Flavor Factory.)....I LOVE IT!!! It's awesome! What a rock community all of us are starting here! I LOVE that I'm a part of it! I will, and do, play music with anyone who wants to, (given I have the time, and as long as no one rips off my gear. Ha! Ha! Ha!....) BE LOVE!!!!!!!!FUCK POWER STRUGGLES!!! BE KIND TO EACH OTHER!!! AND REMEMBER, IF YOU MAKE A SHIT SANDWICH PREPARE TO EAT IT.........
