Don't Stop The Rock.

About Me

MyGen Profile GeneratorDamn fascist profiles, you fill them in and they then expect you to write about yourself!
Firstly my job, i write for a few magazines, do consultancy work, book work too all related with architecture which is a major passion of mine. Actually I really like my work because it doesn't feel like work, its nice to wake up every morning and wonder what if anything the day will hold. Mostly it doesn't but when it does it is great :)
I like photography too. People say photography is for artists too lazy to draw, I CAN draw but it takes so long and I think I'm one of the lazy ones. Digital photography has the advantage of being able to combine drawing and photography into one, a new art form I suppose, there's also the ability to compose on the fly which is much harder than doing it with a standard SLR although I find these days I can see something before I photo it by framing in my head - not quite sure how that talent evolved. My DSLR is probably my most loved thing apart digital wallet and you can see the results of it on my profile.
I'm a total film addict too. A good film like a good book should be something you can return to and spot a new bit every time. I have more than I can count though, something pepole find quite intimidating. How do I have the time to watch them they wonder? Well a film a day keeps the boredom away.

My Interests

Architecture, photography, reading, film, music and fetish.

I'd like to meet:

The great and good. The down and out. The long, the short and the tall. The good, the bad and the ugly. The thick and thin. The saints and sinners. The foul and fair. The everyone and anyone. Just remember to bring your brain.

Music:

Nine Inch Nails, Depeche Mode, Manic Street Preachers, Siousxie and the Banshees, Radiohead, KMFDM, the Cure, cheesy rock like Van Halen, Def Leppard, Bon Jovi. Also more chilled stuff, Craig Armstrong, Orbital, Groove Armada, BBG, the Orb, KLF.
Suprisingly to some people there's also a rather large chunk of classical music, I like those who can tell their Shostakovich from their Schubert. Cliche it may be but my all time favourite is still Mozart's Requiem, isn't amazing to listen to and then remember he wrote this down out of his head in almost single draft over several nights.

Movies:

Ran, Moulin Rouge, Fightclub, Godfather Part 2, Lawrence of Arabia, Assasination of Richard Nixon. Anything intelligent or exciting that requires a brain.

Television:

It shows moving pictures. I dont watch it. It contains evil spirits. I also run in fear from horseless carriages.

Books:

Primo Levi, Dan Fante, Celine, Joseph Heller, Kurt Vonneghut. I'm trying to assememble a collection of architecture books, damn hard given they cost thirty quid each.

Heroes:

Villains are always much more interesting. Evil Zelda from Terrahawks or Dick Dastardly ... now thats a real hero :)
