Rebeca Suarez

I was born Jeni Rebeca Rivero, in a small town in Kentucky in 1971 but lived most of my life in Idaho until i moved to Caracas, Venezuela in 2005, and now Seville in 2008. My mother is Venezuelan and is the parent that raised me. I grew up being constantly influenced, and sometimes bombarded by artists, musicians, plenty of cultural contradictions, and crises of identity. All of that along with typical and not so typical life experience are what shape my music. I've been a child, both a happy one and a lonely one. I am a mother - I've been both a good one and a bad one. I've been married - happily at times, unhappily at others. I am a woman but sometimes that seems irrelevant to me. I understand the benefits of experiencing pain but will do just about anything to avoid it... Details don't matter much to me. I've always been much more interested in expressing ideas and emotions and I write them down out of personal necessity - and because I seem to be incapable of doing anything else. I hope it's worthwhile...----------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------ --- Naci, Jeni Rebeca Rivero, en un pueblo peqeño de Kentucky, EE.UU en el año 1971, pero vivi la mayoria de mi vida en el estado de Idaho hasta que me mude a Caracas, Venezuela en el 2005, y ahora a Sevilla en 2008. Mi madre es de Venezuela y es la persona que me crio. Me crié constantemente influenciada y a veces, bombardeada por artistas, musicos, bastantes contradicciones culturales, y crisis de identidad. Todo eso, con las tipicas, y no tan tipicas experiencias de la vida es lo que da forma a mi musica. He sido niña, a veces feliz, a veces muy sola. Soy madre, he sido buena y tambien mala. Etuve casada, a veces felizmente, a veces no. Soy mujer, pero eso a veces me parece irrelevante. Entiendo los beneficios de sentir pena, pero haria cualquier cosa por evitarla... Los detalles no me importan mucho. Siempre me ha interesado mas expresar ideas y emociones, y las escribo por necesidad personal - y porque creo que soy incapaz de hacer otra cosa. Espero que valga la pena...
