About Me

Rosario Coppola was born in November 1968 in Monza. When he was 8 years old he fell in love with music watching the Monkees' TV Show (American 60's band) When he was 13 he did nothing else except to listen to the Beatles and later to the Police. One day one of his schoolmates led him down to a basement, where he jammed with his schoolmate's brothers and another guy on bass. And when he began to feel that energy and excitement he had a sort of revelation. He ran to his mother to beg her to buy to him a guitar. He later fell in love with the blues, Led Zeppelin, and their offspring. Whenever he and his friends had the chance they went to the cinema to watch "The Song Remains the Same". They put together a band named Last Exit and for the first time he tasted what being on a stage meant. Some early influences include Jimmy Page, Randy Rhoads, Alex Lifferson, Andy Summer, Stevie Ray Vaughn. At the end of the 80's, when he found out about bands such as Rush, he fell in love with Progressive Rock. He quickly recognized his influences and was determined to reach their level of ability. He was in need to mature as a musician and he decided to study music. After obtaining degrees in "Solfeggio and Theory", "Complementary Harmony" and the 5th Year level of Classical Guitar at the "Conservatorio Giuseppe Verdi di Milano" he decided to go to Boston, where he attended a course at the Berklee College of Music. His favorite guitarists are Pat Metheny Pat Martino, George Benson, Steve Vai, John Petrucci, Alex Lefeson, Steve Morse, Jimmy Page, and Stevie Ray Vaughan. He currently plays guitar with a band called Chakrah but he is looking for a seeking working/touring band playing progressive rock similar in style to Dream Theater/Rush/Liquid TensionTo listen his demos go to : www.rosariocoppola.com
