My Interests

I love Music, Rugby League, Leeds Rhinos in particular!...and rugby Union, reading lots of books, computers, going to see my brilliant friend, Mike Snow and his band called Rang A Tang, from Wolverhampton when they come near enough for me to get to!!! Check out the videos:Also search for Mike's MySpace site (search for Rang-A-Tang and you will find it or easier still just click on the Rang A Tang picture in My Friends section)and you will get just a small glimpse of the genius I am telling you about here! They also have their own official website which you can take a good long look at if you visit : The Official Home of Rang A Tang You really do have to see them to believe them, they truly are AWESOME!! And I swear you will never ever see anyone in your life that can play so many instruments as Mike! Sometimes all at the same time!!...yes really!! I was totally knocked out when I first saw them by accident really, whilst on holiday in Blackpool in 1996...I saw them doing a free three set all day long show on the Pleasure Beach and since then have been totally totally hooked! I am also very lucky to have gained Mike as a really great friend, he is such a brilliant person, and I'm not just saying that! Go and see him perform with the band and I am sure you will agree! Go on...you know you want to...!! :-) Check out, and purchase their latest album 'Leopardskin Soup' HERE They ALSO, when not touring around everywhere as Rang A Tang, do a brilliant cover of the Rolling Stones (more info on this if you check out the 'Like A Rolling Stone' link on their official website!)....again a tremendously entertaining experience!
Also enjoy going to see Take Thatwith my friends Emma & Sarah from Newcastle !....and socialising with all my friends of course!

I'd like to meet:

Not too bothered really as all the people I really love and admire I have already met....but the ones I still haven't met that would bring a big smile to my face are probably Johnny Depp, Steven Tyler, Gary Moore, Tim Robbins, Kevin Bacon, Sean Bean, oh and the guy in the recent Aeros advert ;-)

Music:

Rang-A-Tang (my friends band from Wolverhampton...as I said before the most talented band I have ever in my life so far had the honour of witnessing!!
I like to go and see them at every available opportunity they are that superb! The miles thay travel all around the country to perform beggars belief as well, how they have the energy to even get on stage sometimes totally amazes me! They really are one of the most hardest working bands I have ever known, and are also classed at present as being the top UK party band! Get in there!!)

Take That (saw them for the first time last year with friends and was really really impressed!!)Going to see them again this year!
Mark Owen (absolutely love his solo stuff!!)
The late great Stevie Ray Vaughan
Gary Moore
Aerosmith(Steven Tyler never ceases to amaze me, that man is so fit!)
Dave Edmunds
Carlos Santana
Emerson, Lake & Palmer
Robert Cray
Jeff Healey
Walter Trout
The Hamsters (a superb Jimi Hendrix & ZZ Top cover band, but excellent musicians in their own right too)
Paul Carrack (what a voice!)
Joe Cocker(would love to see him live)
Delbert McClinton
The Who
Rolling Stones
Tower of Power (simply the best!!)
Incognito
Bruce Hornsby
Stevie Winwood
Supercharge
Etta James (again what a voice!)
etc etc....too many to mention really....
and lots n lots of blues music, rhythm & blues, salsa music, and jazz.
Finally,my childhood hero David Essex. I'm still really crazy about this man, and he will always, always hold a very special place in my heart...I have a lot to thank David Essex for as he 'shaped my life' for me as I was growing up. I first started getting into his music at the age of 9..yes 9!!...and went to see him endless times from then on...first concert I went to of his was at Leeds Uni at the age of 11, I remember pushing through the guys on the door when they started letting us in and then the mad dash as we all stampeded (literally) down the wooden floor to the front of the stage...ahhh those were the days! :-)...I was hooked on the music and excitement of live shows ever since!!. Was also lucky enough to fulfill my ambition of meeting David when I went to see him at one of his Mutiny on the Bounty stage shows!... a very special moment!

I also, before I discovered the delights and talents of David Essex, used to love the Osmonds, Donny in particular

Movies:

Ghost, Lord of the Rings (all three films) Pirates of the Caribbean (again all three films), in fact anything with Johnny Depp!...and also anything with Tim Robbins, (love Shawshank Redemption)Tom Hanks,(cos he's so cute, and cos he can play so many different characters so convincingly) Kevin Bacon,(also a good singer by the way)Sean Bean, Heath Ledger, Charlie Hunnam, Viggo Mortensen, and Nicholas Cage. I have a thing about gorgeous men ;-)

Television:

Little Britain, anything with Paddy McGuiness, Alan Davies, Jamie Oliver, Leeds Rhinos, rugby league, snooker, good documentaries, Trinny & Susannah, anything with musicians that I like, and anything that's a really good thriller ;-)

Books:

Anything by Tess Gerritsen, (just read 'The Mephisto Club' and was totally knocked out with it! Couldn't put it down without reading it all in one go!), Jodi Picoult, and Virginia Andrews. Also love to read true stories and autobiographies. I'm nosey about other peoples lives! ;-)

Heroes:

My mum and dad (who I miss with all my heart), all my brilliant friends, who are all very very special to me, Rang-A-Tang (great friends to me also) Mike Snow (from Rang A Tang) deserves a very special mention as he is a great great friend to me, and the most talented musician I have ever, ever had the greatest pleasure of witnessing! The only person that can play an instrument in his sleep too I expect! :-) David Essex, for all the very happy memories and the superb music as I was growing up...he will always have a special place in my heart too, Jimmy White....a truly terrific guy who is so approachable and down to earth, and I have been lucky enough to have met loads of times on my travels to support him in the snooker! Francis Cummins (what can I say....another great guy, who I have a lot of respect for. Most special moment being when he invited me as a personal guest of his to his Finale Testimonial dinner to thank me for all my support!, Lewis Jones ( a legend in rugby league....and also used to be my maths teacher at high school!) Adrian Morley, Princess Diana ( someone I would have given anything to have had the chance to meet) & Take That (for getting better and better over the years, and for opening my eyes to just how good a 'boy band' really could be!! :-). Special mention has to go to my fella Derek of course who puts up with me every single day, lord help him, I don't know how he does it sometimes but he does. :-)
