Name's Chris I dwell In Boulder Colorado, grew up punk rock and straight edge in the burbs of Clevo... Skateboarding and music were things we did to make some sense in the increasingly fucked up social and political environment of the early 80's. in 1983 I formed a straight edge hardcore band called "Youth Inc" with my high school friend Jerry Beck. We had a blast playing for two years or so touring into Canada, the mid west and New York. Being straight edge in my teen years kept me out of a lot of one specific kind of trouble but at this time I had managed to attract the attention of the Federal Authorities, and made national headlines for being expelled from high school for wearing a t-shirt (that Jerry had designed) protesting the accidential bombing of civilan targets in Lybia. A good family lawyer got me out of that mess. Since I was in a semi-touring type situation I had joined a vocational program at schol so I could attend band practice in Cleveland Heights with my newly formed band "Outface"... Charlie and myself formed the band with members Frank and Mark and played for two years-playing great local shows with bands like False Hope, Groin and Confront. We also went outside Clevelands great local hardcore scene and opened up for bands like Dag Nasty and Youth of Today in various places inlcuding Detroit and Buffalo. I promised my pops I would go to and finish college so in 1988, with a heavy heart I left Outface to prusue A higher education (Bill Gill sang for a time but Outface ended up with our friend Derrick G as the front man, the rest is HISTORY!) I headed south to Columbus and attended Ohio State...Thru the haze and Chaos of FREAK HOUSE PARTIES, burning furniture and flipping off cop cars I managed a BFA in design, finally learned to play the drums, got my first ink and found my dog DALBY who would be my best friend for the next 13 years. After graduation I quit a great design job at The Wexner Center for the Arts to move out west to pursue a career in the budding snowboard industry. I was on my way to Oregon, when we (Mike and Steve and I) stopped by Mike's friends place, B&A designs in Boulder Colorado to do some riding. I had designed a catalog for the B&A boys in trade so they let me stay in the warehouse for a month. It snowed so much that spring that I never left. I found work in the industry, designed one of the first snowboard websites EVER (worldwideride.com) and began riding backcountry terrain almost exclusively. In late 2000 we encountered a freak avalanche in the backcounty of Wolf Creek Colorado, after a VERY CLOSE CALL I phoned my buddy Trevor back in Boulder and a week later we formed "Lipslide". 4 years (and three Dj's) later we had played many a resort town, rocked many shows and recorded some 9 songs playing places like Vail with great bands like Yo Flaco and MOWER. Our drummer Cinci decided to move to Washington to pursue his culinary career, so Trevor went on to form MooreHead with my Bro Roby and I joined on with Ceder as drummer with Dave and Raven. Dave however, had major issues that were totally out of control before we could really get much done other than compile our live practices into a demo that turned into one of the most solid musical contributions I've made thus far.... I'm still in Colorado to this day, working for the State in the Printing Industry and doing a little design and photography for fun. I got engaged to Sarah in 2005 (she didn't know till late 2006) and we live in a great little farmhouse with views more spectactular than some of our camping trips! Life seems to keep getting more interesting the faster it comes.......So what's next??!
