About Me

In July 2006 I began a relationship with an amazing girl called Emily Martin. I love her more than life itself. I'm not being emo, I really do love her that much. She's the best thing to ever happen to me, and there isn't a single thing about her I'd change. In my eyes, she's perfect.
I've been skateboarding properly since sometime in 2003 (anything I did before didn't really count). I'm not amazing (at least I don't think I am) but I try to skate to the best of my ability, and I try to not skate like everyone else and to try and do something a little bit odd and most of all I skate just to have fun, because that's what it should be, you know? None of this "hesh vs fresh" or "moody ignorance" that is oh so common in modern skating. A lot of my resistance to conform to a stereotypical skating style is evident in my website www.terribleco.co.uk . I advertise it to death quite a lot and I put so much work into it, more than I think to be honest. Laziness is rife amongst the skaters of the present day.
Many of the people I've met through skateboarding are the people who mean the most to me. I met Emily through skateboarding and I've met some of my best friends because of it as well. People like Rosko, Little James, Chris Mander, Andy Scott, Tom Albrow and many, many others, who have all helped me with anything from personal matters to stuff related to uni. I try to be nice to everyone unless they act like a complete douche to me and 95% of the people I've gone out of my way to befriend in skateboarding have been stand up guys. There are others who I've met through uni and work as well, but skateboarding has been the main link that has stopped me from being a social outcast.
I'm currently studying graphic design at Cov Uni, which explores the visual presentation of text and images in just about everything and is not just an excuse to wank about on photoshop all day. Sometimes I get a little big headed about the work I do at uni, but in all honesty it's the only thing I 100% feel like I've been good at academically.
Also:
Heard that you are new in town
someone said you party down
well, later I'll be comin' round
we'll rack 'em up and suck 'em down
don't call your mother - don't call your priest
don't call your doctor - call the police
you bring the razor blade - I'll bring the speed
Take off your coat - it's gonna be a long night
there'll be no 2nd chance for you
tomorrow you'll be black and blue
show your friends your new tattoo
911 won't help you, fool
you're gonna suffer - you're gonna bleed
I've heard it all before - you will concede
I'm takin' everything - you're goin' down
lock up the doors - it's gonna be a long night
it's gonna be a long night - it's gonna be a catfight
it's gonna be a gang-bang
Viewing Material:
Here's a small edit I made of some recent footage of me (All from Feb 2007!!):
This is my section from a video I made called Rushed Goods. It's quite nice. This section, however, is quite old now, Rushed Goods came out sometime in early 2006.
Louie Barletta is a new hero of mine. I'd seen his skating quite a bit before, and I really enjoyed his Osiris "Subject To Change" video part with Jerry Hsu. But it wasn't until I saw his part in "Bag Of Suck" that I began to basically worship the ground the dude walks on. His skating is absolutely mindblowing, and the stuff he does is just for fun and totally what skating SHOULD be. Here is his section from "Bag of Suck":
Mitch Hedberg is ridiculously hilarious. I discovered his comedy on MJ's profile, and I looked more into his stand up stuff and I thought he was hilarious. His jokes are just so different to most other stand up's jokes, and he's pretty much the Kurt Cobain of stand up comedy. Unfortunately, he died of an overdose a few years ago. Here's one of his many stand up routines:

AND ALL OF MY FRIENDS - here is a small collection of the friends who mean the most to me... don't be angry if I don't mention you:
Emily - My ray of sunshine. No words can express how much I love this girl and how much she has changed my life into a place where I enjoy every day. She makes me experience life the way it's suposed to be, the way I should've been experiencing it. She makes me the happiest I've ever been.
Christine - Christine is better than you. Full stop. At everything. And anything. One of the only people i went to school with who I didn't wish a painful death to. Makes life easier for me by constantly reassuring me that I am NOT crazy.
Rosko - Mr "I taught Ade to skate". He has the most bad ass dog ever, and when I go round his house every once a year his dog sits on an office chair and does business work. Rich also invented a dog called Arto. Rich invents loads of well cool things, most of the time they're completely random but they're always good for some reason.
Thomas-san - the legend himself. I've known him longer than I've known any of you. Likes to say funny things and can liven up the most morbid of funerals simply by making a facial expression. Comedy in human form.
Ralph - Ralph is a genuinely great chap. He skates purely for the love of skating, and is pretty damn good at it. I haven't known him too long but he's the kind of person who is just a great friend and is always up for a skate. He's one of those people that instantly makes a skate session better when he turns up. Same goes for Rosko as well.
Chris - Without Chris I don't think Terrible Productions would be headed in the direction it's headed today. Until I started skating with Chris Terrible Productions just seemed to be me filming people I know and making little videos. Chris was the beginning of expanding Terrible Productions stronghold of terror to encompass the whole Cov scene. Not to mention the dude is just awesome.

My Blog

The place I know yet always forget

So it's Sunday evening, and I've been at the park all day. Despite my best efforts to try and have a good skate, i just couldn't. I'm so bored of Coventry and Covpark and everything about it bores me....
