KP was born in Washington DC on July 29, 1987. He moved to Boykin, Alabama when he was 2 and lived there until his parents died at 15. He then moved to Atlanta and lived there until he was kicked out of school and out the house. He then came back to Alabama but this time to a different city. He stayed there until he got out of High School and moved to Columbus, GA where he started Hustla Records. KP's first pieces of equipment was a gift from his Uncle in Atlanta(not the one he lived with). So with that being said he started making his own music. KP and B-Roc were the first two artists on Hustla Records. Their 1st CD was called 'KP & B-Roc Presents: Tha Come Up'. A few weeks after that CD dropped KP was evicted from his apartment in Columbus for a fight he got into with one of the neigbors. A few months later KP went into the Army to fund his dreams of building a real studio. After he came back home he moved back to Phenix City, AL and bought some more studio equipment to go with what he already had. KP formed the group 80 Boyz with another rapper named Bama T and they went on to make '80's Finest', the 2nd CD on Hustla Records. 1 single off the CD,"Army Gunz Ft. LiL Wayne(not the same song as lil wayne's version)" reached 30 out of 500,000 songs on Soundclick.com. Another single "False Move" was a smash hit in the club. Shorty after the CD was made KP moved back to Columbus to his Grandma's house who passed away a week before he came back home. He met another rapper at the community college he went to named G-Wiz that he eventually added to the label. Shae camed shorty after that. KP, Bama T, G-Wiz, & Shae went on to make the group Da Fam and came out with 'Hood Presidents'. Production this time was done mainly by one person instead of several like on the last cd. This was their 3rd CD. 'Indictment Papers' was the 4th CD following that one by KP & Shae mainly with appearance from G-Wiz & others. Bama T wasn't on this CD. KP had singles like 'If I Could' and 'G.I. Joe' that talked about KP's future deployment to the come. He kept recording the CD till the last 3 weeks before he left for Iraq and stopped at 14 songs. A few months later after being in Iraq for a while he made 'Burn This Vol.1' the 5th CD featuring remixes from songs on the previous CD and unreleased tracks plus a few new ones. The CD that came after that was 'W.I. Worldwide Intentions'. That made the 6th CD. That was made near the end of the year right before the 7th CD, 'Best of KP 2007'. A CD that had the hottest KP songs of 2007. For the record in 2007 Hustla Records recorded over 100 songs. Around new years KP got into a beef with another rapper and dropped 'The Magic Bullet'. The beef was ended shortly before the release so it was never published. The next CD was 'Unsigned Hype'. The first single off this CD went all the way to 1 on Sound click.com. This is currently the new CD by KP.
"People often ask me, what makes me the best rapper unsigned. I tell them all the same thing. I'm not a rapper, I'm the prophet of the rapper to come. There's no limit to my potential. I feel my biggest accomplishment is always ahead of me so I don't refer people to my history(even though it's better then a lot of other rappers).", says KP. When first meeting KP the first thought I had of him was he is extra cocky. One of the first things he said to me when I met him referred to himself and everything else. I asked him about his influences and this is what he told me. Quote. "Hip Hop itself is my biggest influence. I don't think my biggest influence could come from one person. If I had to put a face on it though it would have to be Jay-Z & LiL Wayne. Jay-Z because... he's Jay-Z & LiL Wayne because he's the hottest rapper from the south rite now and I respect that. But I 'am' the best rapper unsigned." Unquote. I don't think in the whole time I was around KP he didn't make a reference to himself. This is before I really 'listened' to him. Him being so cocky made me listen to see what got him being so cocky and I must say it changed my opinion. KP's delivery is different from a lot of other rappers I've heard. He showed he could blend in with tracks like "Roll Tha Swisser" that went 1 on Soundclick.com and separate himself with tracks like "Under Tha Influence" that talks about how music affects the youth of today. In today's society being able to blend in and stand out are important parts of making it in this industry. A rapper whose 'too' different wouldn't catch on with most people while a rapper whose 'too' alike couldn't separate himself from the next guy saying the same thing. So people if you ain't heard KP's music yet, you should.
