I HAVE A SHORT SWORD, DIPSHIT!!

About Me

I looked at all of the caged animals in the shelter... the cast-offs of human society. I saw in their eyes love and hope, fear and dread, sadness and betrayal. I was angry and said "God, this is terrible! Why don't You do something?" God was silent for a moment, and then He spoke softly, "I have done something... I created you."
IF YOU AREN'T OUTRAGED,
YOU AREN'T PAYING ATTENTION.
BE THE CHANGE
YOU WOULD LIKE TO SEE IN THE WORLD.
I will try my best to keep this a balance between being short enough to read and long enough to weed out ADD people who will send me a message asking a question they could answer themselves by reading here. Not that there's anything wrong with ADD... OMG, DANCING SHAMROCKS!!
...and as displayed by the dancing shamrocks, I'm Lindsay. Or Linc, but I'm particular about that rhyming with 'since,' not 'link.' While Zelda is awesome and I realize I may look a bit elvish, just don't fucking call me Link.
I'm a Libra and it shows. "Librans hate to be rude, yet they'll straighten the crooked picture on your wall and snap off your blaring television." Don't expect a jig of glee when I have to make a decision. I do dance jigs on a regular basis, though. Ask about my halfling dance.
Although a former cat person, I have a dog, Loralye, who is rather insane. I also have 13 cats and a guinea pig. I'm not a crazy animal-hoarder, I rescue and TNR (trap, neuter, return) local strays.
I've been with le boyfriend, Scott , for over a year now. He has the most gorgeous green eyes, drives me to IHOP 2 hours away at 1am, protests the circus with me in subzero temperatures. Basically, he's just very sweet and awesome, and I think I'll keep him.
Animals and the betterment of their treatment and care are both my passion and purpose, which is why I'm determined to become a veterinarian. I've merely begun the process of figuring out exactly how to pursue this, but I've been at it for a few years, meddling in Veterinary Technician schooling that I've finally decided just isn't for me when I can do better.
I'm an animal-rights activist, and I help coordinate Voices for Animals of Western Pennsylvania . Don't mistake me for a psychotic because of this, I strive to be a bridge of understanding between humans and animals rather than alienate people with my beliefs. There is no question in my mind that this is why I'm here. (If you find the concept of a veterinary animal activist odd, check out The Association of Veterinarians for Animal Rights and tell me who you'd rather care for your pets.)
I've had Lyme Disease since 1993. After much difficulty with illness and treatment, I am a Lyme Disease public education advocate, and I moderate local Lyme Disease support meetings. For more information, check out the Lyme Disease Basics , and feel free to contact me with any questions!
As for random interests, I've adored Pittsburgh Penguins hockey since before I can remember, and there will always be a special place in my heart for hockey goalies. I love dorkly games like Dungeons & Dragons, Neverwinter Nights, Rise of Nations, and I will not hesitate to dominate you at Risk if you even think you can handle it. I'm basically a hygenic hippie. I also love SWPA (Southwestern Pennsylvania, pronounced 'Swippa') and Pittsburgh people-watching.

I'd like to meet:

People who want to make the world a better place; nothing but. I stress this because otherwise I'll waste my energy trying to change that about you, and get upset in realizing I'm powerless against your apathy. Been there, done that, moving on...

If I don't know you, please send me a message along with your friend request or it will probably get denied.
