Jon Day - Soul, Wisdom and a Voice

(Please read my blog for the latest updates.) Rhythm & Soul

THEME SONG is one of my best lyrically... CHECK OUT THE MOVIE TRAILER - HENRY POOLE IS HERE

Truly great music is transcendant, and only a generation or more can tell you why. But it begins with a simple premise. That the artist can speak to the masses through the poetry of music - a simple combination of words and rhythm that strike a series of musical and literal chords.

What's Jon Day Say...

Plenty. This is my space, right? My goal isn't fame. My goal is to perfect my craft of singing and storytelling to the best of my ability, and then let you decide. And by YOU, I mean I want to share my vision locally and globally at the same time. I want to reach my peeps in Sea-town, as much as I want to reach out to the Blokes in Brisbaine. Check out my friends, you'll see they're from all over the globe, and I don't even have one of those handy map widgets...
I have a vision to share my stories through music, teach through my lyrics and be a compass for social consciousness. And I want to always have a message. Whether the song is about love, or relationships, or the human condition; there is always something to be gained or received, learned or forgiven, through each experience. I hope my gift to all of you can be capturing that essence and reflecting its spirit through my voice.
As a new artist, I am trying to do two things that have rarely been achieved in the music business. Namely, breaking into the business at a "mature" age on my own terms; and second, giving back to the community right out of the gate. It's difficult, but it can be done. So how does that happen?

First, I will make a difference in my community by donating 50% of the profits from my upcoming EP, "What About Me", to charity. Second, the charity I selected is Treehouse for Kids. Treehouse makes a difference in the lives of foster kids in King County, WA, by providing services that fulfill key material needs, help them learn, and give them a real childhood as well as hope for the future.

Sounds Like: For starters, I'll go against any of the hit makers for lyrical content, any day of the week. But I have to say that John Legend is my man right now. I'm probably closest to him vocally, though I have a higher natural tenor voice. I also love his production, and we all know it's hard to touch a Kanye joint. It's sparse, but infectious, that's the sound I hope to create.
