02/21/1950 - 04/07/2008Our hero might not have been superman or have superpowers, but his simple manner and courageous character was all we needed. He stuck out his hands in any fire for you. He'd pull you out of any hole you might have fallen into, and in his gentle way teach you why you fell. His compassion and understanding nature allowed him to befriend anyone he met. To some he was their best friend, to others their confidant, and to one her soul mate. Forever he will live with utmost honor in all our hearts, as he was loved by many.
In December 2006 he was diagnosed with colon cancer and with all his power and his might he concentrated all his energy in fighting this horrifying disease. He was a fighter in all sense of the word. The last thing he wanted was this disease to prevail, but it was just too much in the end. Among all his pain and suffering he could not bear to think or imagine the children that suffered like he did. How could a child possibly bear the pains that he as a strong, willful man deal with? And to think that they would have to embark in such a torrential journey as innocent and as helpless as they are. All he ever wanted was to give to this charity in the hopes that one day they will find a cure to ensure that no other child would have to go through what he as a man had to go through.
Our hero, our best friend, a soul mate, a loving father, will live on forever as legends do and his spirit will long live among us.
