About Me

There's nothing I can say about myself that's anywhere near as important as what this man has to say."Our country's founders cherished liberty, not democracy." -- Ron Paul.www.ronpaul2008.com

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

If you set my mind to it, you could make four phone calls and be talking to Stephen Spielberg by the end of next week. The question is what would you say? That being the case, I'll put down some dead people who I can't meet. I think I'd like spending a couple weeks in the woods with Thoreau, or maybe trapsing across the country with Lewis and Clark. Cliff Burton would be fun to party with, and I'd love to throw back a beer with Socrates, Jesus, and Beowulf, too.

The Elusive Second Act

Review of "Nick & Norahs Infinite Playlist"

Meh.Having just read a redefinition of genre that puts Die Hard and Schindler's List in the same category, I was naturally watching this movie with an eye on what category it might fall into.  Wh...

Loglines

I've been reading a lot about loglines recently.  For those of you not in the biz, this is the one-sentence answer to the question "what is your story about?"According to Terry Rossio, it's the "...

Highlights from the Austin Film Festival

Things I learned at this year's Austin Film Festival:1. Read Terry Rossio and Ted Elliot's website, Wordplay, cover-to-cover, as it were. 2. Just like a film has a three-act-structure, so too does eve...
