About Me

I love my band!!!
Blind Resistance
We we get killer gigs!!
I am lovin' life!!
I sing, therefore I am.
I was exposed to many decades of music through my family. My brothers are 15, 16, 1nd 17 years older than me. My sister is 8 years older than me - there was no time for kiddie songs by the time I came along. I teethed on The Rolling Stones and The Beatles. By the second grade I was listening to Carly Simon and Boz Scaggs. In the fifth grade I was exposed to live opera, Luciano Pavorotti and Renata Scotti, by my mother. Seventh grade I was in the church choir and learning guitar. High school found me in the school choir, piano lessons, trumpet lessons and hanging around the marching band. I was born to be a band geek. My father was Cajun and I was subject to Zydeco and Cajun music from early on. My mother once told me I sounded like Janis Joplin the moment I was born. :) My mother had a great influence on me musically. She adored opera and explained to me in intense details how control over your voice is everything. I've been dabbling in music for 23 years, having paid plenty of Do-Wop Girl dues and loads of Karaoke. Now that my kids are grown - it's "me" time. Onstage I have been compared to a rooster on acid. Driven and compulsive, but compassionate and passionate. I don't really move around that much, but I make up for it with intensity! No wonder men can't figure women out!

Sounds Like: Those who love me say I sound unique. A few say I sound like Janis Joplin or Macy Gray. I don't know. I just put it out there for everyone to see & hear. I don't worry about sounding like anyone but me. Life is too short to go around trying so hard to be or sound like anyone else. Even when I do cover songs, I know I'm not going to sound like the original artist, I just do my best. You have to love what you do in life. I try to show that when I'm on stage. Once this becomes work, it won't be fun anymore. As long as there is passion in my music and I'm having fun, I'll be fine.

I can feel the passion and the intensity when I sing. I can feel the electricity in the crowd and I love the appreciation I get. Isn't that what it's all about? Spark a flame onstage and let the crowd set you on fire. Burn strong and burn bright - isn't that what makes us all stars in our own right? I'm just looking for my spot in the sky to shine. I guess I just sound like me. When you listen to my originals you'll find that the music is all different. Working with alot of different studio musicians while trying to put a band together. I like the different sounds behind me, makes me feel more flexible. :)

Why Gay?

I'm, yet again, confused.  Gay rights are fought for and won day in and day out.  Small victories on a daily basis, right?  The right for this and that and marriage and to be equal.  I understand all ...
