Music:
Into anything, but mainly rock. I'm mostly into 80's & 90's alternative... like The Pixies, Dinosaur jr., The Smashing Pumpkins, Ministry, Tool, Nine Inch Nails, The Cure, The Smiths, PJ Harvey, Kate Bush... Also like a lot of current stuff as well as classic. I used to be a big Grateful Dead-Head, and still love them, but not nearly as gung-ho as I used to be. I like some old-school country and rap. Even enjoy some classical and opera. Also a big fan of Bob Dylan, Paul Simon, Peter Gabriel, Tom Waits, Yes, and the Beatles. I don't really care for most new country & rap. And I don't go for recent pop stuff like Christina Aguilera and Brittney Spears.
Movies:
I'm a major movie buff. I like all genres, but I suppose horror/sci-fi/fantasy are my favorites. I have hundreds of dvds, laser-discs, and video tapes. I don't go to the theatre as much as I used to... either I've become more selective or the amount of worthwhile releases has declined. A little of both I suppose. Kubrick, Scorsese, Hitchcock, Kurosawa, Peckinpah, Fellini, Bergman, Jarmusch, Jackson, Tarantino, Lynch, Coppola, Allen... all directors who's works I admire. Yet none of them directed my favorite film....
Television:
I'm not a major television viewer, but there are some shows I love. The Sopranos, Twin Peaks, The Simpsons, 24, South Park, Star Trek (the original series as well as the next generation), Lost, The Odd Couple. My roommate has gotten me into Everybody Loves Raymond and Seinfeld, but I only watch them when he has the remote and there's nothing else on. I also watch sports... NY Yankees, NY Giants, NJ Devils and US Open Tennis.
Books:
Big into Stephen King and Shakespeare. Also dig Charles Bukowski, Raymond Carver, Elmore Leonard, Tolkien, Herman Hesse, Anne Rice (just the vampire books), Douglas Adams, Heinlein....
Heroes:
My parents, family and friends. Oh, and Spiderman.
