The Watsons settled on this farm in the early 1800s. They were well respected in these parts. But the depression came and their crops began to fail, animals began to die and the apple trees seemed to moan in the night breeze. The Watsons fell on hard times, times that would try a man. They couldnt grow a thing, didnt have the gift, didnt love the earth. The Watsons turned hard, mean, they stopped going to church, and going into town.
At the beginning of next season the fields began growing record crops, no matter how bad the weather, insects or the conditions, when no one else could grow a thing. They always had a big crop. No one knew what to make of it, but there was some talk.See in those days, there were drifters, young men looking for work, odd jobs and such. The young men were lured to the farm with the promise of work, it was then they were laid to rest. Strange noises were being heard from the back barn located on the property, lights glowing into all hours of the night. It was there they were dressed and hung up on crosses as scarecrows and their blood dripped down into the fields. These fields were sowed by human blood and the earth never forgets. When the work became more plentiful, and the drifters diminished, record numbers of reports were received for missing children from the town. During this time the farm began to grow to a total of 375 acres producing the largest record crops in Ohio.Legend has it Mr. Watson went down to the crossroads and came face to face with Old Scratch himself. They made a pact and sealed it in blood.Do you know anything about a Dark Harvest? Well, I will tell you. It is when souls are harvested to feed earth of our fields. It is a time when restless spirits return to finish their earthly business, to reckon. All nature is a cycle and to the wronged, dead or alive, this will be the reckoning, when those dead will get revenge, when the harvester will gather more souls so that these fields will once again flourish. As I said before, The earth never forgets. Be careful, hold on tight there are still many crosses to fill, and he walks behind the rows waiting for drifters and visitors. We'll be waiting for you.......
