Hercules is a 6 piece Norwegian boogierock band. Their second CD Licence to Rock was released the 2nd of September 2005
Hercules started out in 1997, with Lars Braastad, Vemund Moss, Kristian Hauge, Simen Knuts and Oskar Aarnes. They started as a cover band, but went in the studio in 2000 and recorded three songs penned by Vemund Moss. The single recieved good critics as well as some radio air-play all over the country.
Hercules took a turn for the more heavier, boogie rock style and early 2002 saw the release of their first full time cd. Titled "Checkin'in", the album received great reviews, both national and abroad, stating; High class rock'n'roll, Quo material better than the originals have done for years. Quo's producer Mike Paxman also called it- A great rock album with good songs and great riffs.
Hercules added second guitarist Tormod Haug in the summer 2003 as the band played three successfull dates in Germany.The band released "Licence to Rock" the 2nd of September 2005, you can read the review from Classic Rock Magazine here.
