Um...theatre and music. I guess I kind of jumped the gun and put that in my "about me" bit. Oh well. I love walking which is good because I don't so much have the license to drive. I'll be moving into a trailer soon which will be fun but it will be the first time in like five years that I haven't lived within three or four blocks of Hardee's! But who needs fast food? (drool drool drool) I really enjoy spending time with friends but would almost always rather do it one on one than in a group - introvert alert! I love listening to friends tell stories. I'm too ADD to tell any really good ones but my delivery still makes people laugh. :) I love going to see movies. I have no problem sitting in a movie theater by myself but you really do get some funny looks...especially if you sit in the back row of a matinee of a kids' movie...I'm not a pedophile! I love thunderstorms...um, what else? Respect! I love respect! Rude people make me really, really mad and I have to be careful because I work with lots of tourists. Just be nice to people for cripes sake!
Anyone. I thought about being specific, but why? Any new person you meet has some sort of an impact on you, really. Even if they're a complete creep you at least get a good story out of it!
Music is my favorite indulgence. Country makes me want to retch, and I never really got into rap or hip-hop (although I do appreciate some of it) but otherwise I like most stuff. I use music as a total mood enhancer - it's way worse than alcohol! At any given point my top three bands are The Beatles, The Who, and Dave Matthews Band. I take a lot of guff for that last one, but it doesn't matter. More recently I discovered wonderful people like Amos Lee, Iron & Wine and The Decemberists. Buuuut my biggest weakness is ethnic music, especially Scottish and Irish. I stopped saying Celtic after I studied in Scotland and they said that's just a "tourist" word. I don't get it either, but whatever.
I love books but I've come to the realization recently that I haven't read many new ones lately...any suggestions? I'm not one who can just go to the library and just pick something up. Well, that's mostly because I lent some library cd's to a friend who has yet to return them...but anyhoo, I just never liked the idea of reading something, falling in love with it and then having to give it back! But here are some of my favorites: The Poisonwood Bible, The Iron Tower Trilogy, Harry Potter (you wanna make something of it?), James Patterson books, The Bartimeaus Trilogy, Lovely Bones, Little Women, The Good Earth. Hmm, so lots of fantasy and really violent crime novels. What does that say about me?
I would really love to put something cool and profound here but I'm drawing a blank. I'll just go with my step-mom for now. Yeah, she's pretty cool.
