About Me

Well thanks to an old friend recently coming back into my life, I have found the need and desire to play the guitar again. Classical guitar that is. Its been along time since I studied Classical/Spanish guitar, but again, thanks to my old friend, I rediscovered what I love about it. I did not think I cared for this style anymore. In fact not only have I not practiced it in over a decade, I am not sure I really ever even thought about it much since I cut my nails 10 years ago.As you can see, I have removed all the songs on my profile. They were horrid, and you know it. Not only that, but the same 4 songs have been up for like 5 or 6 years now, and I never really liked any of them...Need to find a classical guitar teacher in Portland/Salem/Vancouver area. Once I get out of the Mary Had a Little Lamb studies, I will post some beginner things I am working on here on myspace. It will most likely be atleast a year before I will be able to put up strong, professional projects. But, we'll see. Maybe its like riding a Bike.....

Band Members: Lead Person: Sir Michael Brooks. Sir Michael's assistant and biggest fan: Larry Brooks
Influences: Recently: James D Varieur, live at the I-911 club in the crazy and hip Charbonneau District. Also, recently re-introduced to Paginni, Andres Segovia, William Kanengiser, Ana Vidovic (omg!), Roland Dyens, Narciso Yepes, Astor Piazzola ( currently I have slight case of man love for Astor), umm etc. etc.(i.e. favorite bands. this list is in no way meant to suggest that I sound like these people, they are just musicians that have really inspired me me over the decades) The dirty three, The Mars Volta, Placebo, Cocteau twins, Dead Can Dance, Iron Maiden, Amy Winehouse, Loretta Linn, The Misfits, Bad Brains, Steve Vai, Al Di Meola, Radio Head, Janes Addiction, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Chopin, Andres Segovia, Cookie Pal, Nusrat Fate Ali Khan, Chris Ledoux, Stanely Jordan, Skinny Puppy, Covenant, alot of different old 4AD bands, The Cure, Sisters of Mercy, The Make-up, Killers, Cynic, Propaghandi, Anacrusis, ... I think this list could go on for ever!!!.. Maria R., Dave M., and JR B. have all been awsome growing up with in many ways, but also in having a great source for finding new music. I can't think of any bands that they have introduced me to that I didn't eventually become in love with... So I thank them for that. I would probably still be listening to either Prince or Poison if it wasn't for their open minds and ears.
