Your New Best Friend

About Me

Your New Best Friend was formed on a bet. See, someone bet singer/songwriter Todd Satterfield he couldnt form a band and hold it together for longer than a year. You lose, bud! In 2002, after finding a dust-covered cache full of unrealized potential in the form of Your New Best Friends unique brand of power pop and indie rock sensibilities, he decided there was nothing else to do but put them to good use. A Craigs List ad produced the original line up of YNBF, David McFadden and Ken White. Together they performed in NYC and made a record with engineer Lori Sprester (Twin Spires studios). Their first recording, My Previous Life, was very well received by most everyone who heard it, garnering sparkling reviews. YNBF has moved forward in many ways in 2005. The band has morphed into their present line up that includes bassist Colin Gentle, synthist Tamora Lynn, and drummer Jason Sloan (The Brett Rosenberg Problem, Army of Jasons) Together they have solidified the band to a point that its scary, and are primed to record the second YNBF release in early 2006. The bands' sound fits nicely in a pile of CD's that would include the nuances of bands and artists such as Elliot Smith, Spoon and Wilco coupled with the fire and sonic muscle of bands in the Foo Fighters, Replacements and Husker Du camp.

Another band who‚ve really taken it to the next level in the last few months. The forthcoming album is supposedly fantastic."– Alan Young, The New York Press"Look out for the seriously talented Todd Satterfield, writer of these deeply captivating tunes, multi-layered and immaculately arranged."–Kevan Breitinger of Indie-Music.com"Vocalist Todd Satterfield lifts this CD from being "good" to "great." This is a good example of just how a band should sound without the endless tales of compromise of corporate hooey."– Dan Cherubin of CDHotlist.com
