This is not Lisa Tucker. This is her number one fan my space The Mighty Tucks! Be sure to come by here and check out her music!
Lisa Gabrielle Tucker, born June 13, 1989 in Newport Beach, California is an all around star. Looking up to different artists such as Whitney Houston, Stevie Wonder, Jimi Hendrix, John Legend, and Mariah Carey, Lisa is now reaching her goals to be just as big as they are. She is a musical theater actress, and has been a finalist on three talent shows, American Idol (Tenth Place), Star Search (Top Twelve Finalist), and ..Next Biggest Star.. which she won twice.
Lisa was raised in Anaheim, California. Her parents are Stanley Tucker and Eleanor Tucker. She has two older brothers: Billy and Stanley, Jr. Her whole family is proud and very supportive of her future carreer and helps her in every way possible. Her mom first realized her talent one day when she was on the backyard diving board singing a ..Little Mermaid.. tune. Eleanor was amazed and says, ..The tears started coming down because that was the first time I really listened to her... Both her brothers were background singers and choreographers for Lisa..s sold out concert in 2002. Her father stated in a past interview that: ..I..ve done my job. But, as long as she..s a minor, we will be involved. When she..s 18 and 19, I hope we continue to have a great relationship.
Lisa was encouraged by her parents to audition for ..A Little Princess.. which was held by Orange County Children..s Theater (OCCT). She got the lead role in the first play she auditioned for! At the age of 10, Lisa was referred by OCCT for Disney Productions to cast Lisa as young Nala in ..The Lion King.. and once again she got the part! This was her first paying gig and Lisa says, ..I would have done it for free!.. Lisa played as Nala for 11 months but had to stop due to contract limitations for minors. When Lisa was 13 she auditioned for Star Search and eventually made it to the finals. She became the runner up to Tiffany Evans. At the age of 16 she auditioned for the fifth season of American Idol in Denver, Colorado with a song she also sang on Star Search, "One Moment In Time" by Whitney Houston. Judge Simon Cowell said she was the best 16 year-old to ever audition for the show. Later, the judges made a unanimous decision to put her through to the season's final 24. America fell in love with her and voted her through to be the apart of the top 12. She was eliminated and was given 10th place on March 29, 2006, after being in the bottom three with Katharine McPhee and Ace Young.
Lisa is not only a singer but she is also a songwriter who plays the guitar, piano, and is learning to play the drums. She has performed at numerous city events in Anaheim such as the Mayor's Prayer Breakfast, Flag Day events, a Mighty Ducks Game, and an Anaheim Angels baseball game. She also made a guest appearance on The OC playing herself for the prom episode.
Lisa is also very smart! She excelled in her elementary school academics so much that she skipped a grade. She could have easily made it into any performing art school but chose not to because she says, ..I just wanted to have a regular high school experience. Go to games and cheer.. I wanted to keep school totally separate from what I was doing on the outside... She attended John F. Kennedy High and while she was on American Idol she took classes with former Idol contestants Paris Bennett and Kevin Covais. She was a senior during Idol and returned to John F. Kennedy after she was voted off. The following June she graduated in the class of 2006. Now Lisa is planning on attending USC in 2007. She will be taking her first year off to work on her album.
