BIO

A comienzos de 2006 Black Cloud graba su segundo demo “The WORST Of…”del cual el tema “What Would it Take For You (To Murder)”, posteriormente, forma parte de un compilado latinoamericano de rock femenino (“Femme Rock II”), editado en Bolivia.
BIO
in english

The band begins in January 2004, with MariaNoise, Mariana and Evelyn, mainly influenced by Punk Rock music and the Riot Grrrl movement.
The lyrics are for the most part written in English, and cover a wide range of topics, such as adolescence, society and inner conflicts.
The songs are pretty fast and short in length.
Half-way through that same year, Black Cloud decides to record its first demo tape and to promote it among the scene.
Around October, the band makes its live debut.
Since then, there have been nonstop live performances on several venues in Montevideo (the capital city) and the rest of the country.
In the early 2005, a new member arrives to the band to take charge of vocals.
Form that moment on, the Black Cloud increases its power, thanks to Shaela’s singing strength, consolidating the band’s style.
Nevertheless, the band keeps constantly nourishing itself from the large musical variety that influences each member individually.
In July 2005, Black Cloud takes part in The United Girls II Fest (a women’s festival of art and music), in which it shares stage with some of the most important bands amongst the same music genre: The Brainerds and She-Devils, from Uruguay and Argentina respectively.
In the beginning of 2006 Black Cloud records its second demo tape: “The WORST Of…” .
The song “What Would It Take For You (To Murder)”, makes part of a compilation album of Latin-American female bands (Femme Rock II) released in Bolivia.
Later on, the band has the opportunity to enter a radio contest based on the audience’s vote, which it wins together with another local band.
This way, Black Cloud gets to play in one of the biggest stages of the city.
In 2007 the Black Cloud goes away on a trip to the seaside, carrying just a couple of acoustic instruments, some lyrics and the craving to write new songs and to coexist beyond the musical aspect.
Back from their journey, which was a total hit, the guitarist abruptly decides to leave the band.
Feeling that they couldn’t give up, and not being ready to do so after all they had accomplished, the remaining members begin the tiresome task of finding a new guitarist.
Two months later, Zoffía joins Black Cloud.
She’s here to stay and to bring -- with her particular style influenced mainly by the metal genre-- dexterity, speed and creativity into the band.
A lot of new songs, more intense lyrics, extra complex melodies and empowering solos grant the band its final shape, which it’s still keen on mutating into something even better in the future.
Anyhow, at this point in time, Black Cloud is ready to take the big leap, with the same enthusiasm as always, but with more power than ever.

Basically, our music is a natural and spur-of -the moment mix of all of our musical influences with each one’s personal touch.
People have compared us from Kittie and Distillers, to The Donnas, Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Peaches, which is, in fact, quite contradictory!
That’s why we rather not fit in any genre and experiment...set free our creativity and see where the hell it gets us to.
Let the “outsiders” put the tags; they’ll do that anyway!
