About Me

Happily married for almost 3 years now, Marisa and I are now enjoying life back in the burbs after almost 10 years in Queens. However, I'll always love the city and all it represents. I really try not to take it for granted.Oh yeah... I'M A NEW DAD!! I'm crazy about Shannon. Marisa has been amazing with her. I can't believe that she's a month old now.I'm in my late 30s now but don't feel it. I guess that the late 30s aren't what they used to be.Your results:

My Interests

Current events, sports especially football, music and movies. I'm a car buff too but that's on the back burner while we get the house to how we want it HOUSE = WORK

I'd like to meet:

I'm happily married but I'm always up for meeting new friends... no one in particular but I like the concept of being part of this big interlocking network.I'm also interested in professional networking and hearing about any good finance IT jobs on Long Island. They do exist, don't they?

Music:

I'm a rock fan but my tastes are somewhat eclectic for a Long Island boy. I won't sit here and say that I like everything because my collection doesn't include any polkas or show tunes but it does include lotsa Foo Fighters, Peppers, Pearl Jam, Coldplay, Pete Yorn, Cure and Counting Crows along with some Sade, DMX, Metallica, Van Morrison, Bach, Beatles and yes... some quality hair bands like Dokken and Ratt. That stuff meant so much to me when I was growing up with it will always be a part of me.I really like the Fray too.I'm in the process of loading up my iPod and while it is alot of work, I have enjoyed the process of going through the collection methodically and revisiting some stuff that I hadn't looked at in a long while. The last CD I bought was Zero 7.Between Marisa and I, we have hundreds of CDs so this is the tip of the iceberg. Matthew Sweet sang our wedding song.

Movies:

I love movies but so many come and go that I don't see nearly as many as I would like. The last one we saw in the theater was Good Night and Good Luck. It's a brilliant, thought provoking film. We just saw The Departed on DVD. That's a real good movie as well.I don't think that liking major Hollywood stuff and smaller films are mutually exclusive.BTW - Get a Tivo. It will change your life

Television:

This is the part where I'm supposed to say that I don't like TV, right?? Well screw it, I like TV and don't mind saying so. Some of my favorites are the Simpsons, 30 Days, 24, the Law & Orders, Mythbusters, My Name is Earl, The Office and Everybody Hates Chris. We Tivo the Daily Show every night and watch it when we get home from work. If you don't have a Tivo, it will change your life!!Lately, I've developed an obsession with Pinks on the Speed Channel. I miss Buffy and Angel and wish that Joss Whedon had a new show on.

Books:

One thing about being back in the burbs is having time to read on the train. I used to just read mysteries and legal thrillers but made a concientious decision sometime ago to read different kinds of books. Currently I'm reading a Walk in the Woods which is about the Apalachian Trail. Some of my favorites are The Alienist, To Kill a Mockingbird and Going for the Laugh which is written Martin Zuckerman. It's been a great pleasure to know him and I have immense respect and admiration for him.

Heroes:

Tough question.... I'll give big ups to the working class heros my Dad, Phil Simms, Paul O'Neill and the disabled kid that hit all the threes. In history and politics, I hold Ronald Reagan, John McCain and Rudy Guiliani in high regard but not in a heroic kind of way.I also have to give ups to all the musicians that pour their heart into creating music. It's such an amazing talent.
