John "KELLY" Kincaid, (A.K.A. - The bald guy groovin' the bass in the photo above), started playing bass in the late 70s, listening to the likes of Rush, Yes, Zep, and Cream. I've played with bands around the Dallas area including Stilletto, The Vinnie Rose Band, Out Of Order/Contagious and Phil & the Phat Cats. I was awarded "Bass Player of the month" by Buddy Magazine Sep. '96, and "Bass player of the Year" '96 by Buddy Magazine in the "Around Arlington" series. I dropped out of the scene after '96 only to return in 2003 after successfully battling substance abuse. I was blown away when I started listening to Tommy Shannon. I felt a kinship with his and Stevie's music not only for their playing style but their successful battles against substance abuse as well. Thats when I new that Texas blues was what I wanted to play. I joined the Phat Cats and began my first experience into the Dallas blues scene. After 2 Years with the Cats, it was time to move on. I joined forces with Freddie canales on guitar & vocals in the band, TTT. It was a great experience and produced phenominal originals.
I am very excited about my new gig as Lance Lopez's bassist! Lance and I have progressed comfortably into a working relationship as well as common personal ground! I'm overwhelmed by the awesome things My Savior does in my life! We play our first "LIVE" gig in Arkansas Sept. 26, 'o8. WOW!
GOD IS SO GREAT ..
