I am here for Friends

About Me

I am my son’s mom and in that I have found out who I really am. Pregnant at 19, my life didn’t quite turn out how I had planned it. But I wouldn’t change what has come my way or reverse my decisions for anything, because those experiences have made me who I am. I have endured many struggles, disappointments, heartache and sacrifice over the years, learning how to truly love my son and what that means to be a real mom. My child support came in the form of my wonderful family, not grief paid out in cash. These lessons taught me the value of hard work and how fortunate I am to have my family. Today I have a great job, I own my home and my son is a happy kid with a good and helpful heart and a total love for life.
I am a giver. I may not have bucket loads of money, but I have compassion, ability to make time and the desire to help. My place of employment helps feed this need from time to time, by allowing me the opportunity volunteer doing things like Habit for Humanity or raising money for the American Heart Association. The rest of the time I help with the Cub Scouts. I have been told I am married to the Cub Scouts, I think it is a great program and I really feel that volunteering was my saving grace at that time in my life. I am going into my 3rd year, but I am taking a break from leading the troops, to now sitting on the committee and planning activities for the pack. It was a necessary but hard move, since I enjoy being directly involved and playing with the kids in my den, but life changes and its time to make time again and focus my energy onto other things.
The one guarantee as a child is that your childhood will someday end. I had a great one filled with excitement and wonder. I want to know that my son’s life is filled with the same adventure, excitement, joy and laughter, to have the sweet with the sour. I hope to have him know one day that my love for him is greater than what I can or cannot financially provide. We live in the Pacific Northwest, God's country. I love Oregon for is shares it's many adventures and we never run out of the many beautiful, wonderful and different things to go see. You can drive an hour in any direction and find something different. I have this curiosity to see and experience new things, so exploration is always high on my list, and this area provides plenty of that. Oregon is one big playground and I want my son to appreciate that as well. (SO it's a good thing that I have a fearless kid, who's not intimidated to try something new!)
All in all, I live to love, I laugh a lot and I learn. I pick myself back up when I fall and brush of the dust, I stomp through the mud in my pink boots. I enjoy my life, even when it’s stressful and I wont let set backs stop me. Through the grace of God I have not broken, but have been molded into a stronger person. I am cheerful, happy, feisty, and protective. I am my son’s mom...the mama bear...

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

The Pink Popple and Rainbow Brite were my favorite toys as a kid. I still have this pink popple at home, poor thing got her tail detatched, but I still have it! I remember when my dad gave her to me, I was at home sick...I dont remember if this is when I had pneumonia or not...probobly as I would have been about 6 at the time I got my popple. But anyway I was laying on the ugly green couch watching TV when dad came home from work with my new pink popple. Its funny what you remember from your childhood, what things stand out in your scattered memories. As for Rainbow brite she must have gone to the Goodwill, because I just dont know what happened to her! I remember sitting and playing with her and her horse Starlite for hours in my room. My other favorite characters growing up were the Smurfs and Kissyfur. LOL
