DJ Chris O

I read that drinking was bad for you. I gave up reading.

About Me

I am neurotic, quirky, hopelessly romantic, highlighted, musical, talented, caring, compassionate, extroverted, clean, sober (sometimes...), fun, & stoopid sometimes too. I try to be funny, but I fall on my face all the time. I am confident, but humble. I DJ all the time. I got my start DJing in High School doing band & cheerleading dances; I started doing weddings in Grand Rapids, Michigan where I got hooked up with Tiki Bob's Cantina (R.I.P.). I ended up in Columbus **SUPPOSEDLY** for a month or two to train a new DJ here, but then the Lodge Bar decided to keep me. I love to travel. I love to eat, but currently need to lose 15 pounds. I can cook, but I have only done it a few times to impress women. I must have the cooking genes in me. Family is SO important to me.

My Interests

nightlife, DJing, music of all kinds INCLUDING country, rap, and classical, an intense desire to be paid for what I love to do, progressive house, Curve cologne, Jeopardy!, Detroit Red Wings, Detroit Pistons, recently the Detroit Tigers (the Pudge era), Texas Hold-Em Poker: playing, and watching it on TV, getting my masters degree, clubbing, dancing, Crown Royal, fitness, Gamecube, the Glassmen, Drum & Bugle Corps, Molson Canadian beer, finding someone to be a hopeless romantic with, Playboy, GQ and Men's Health magazines, taking stupid pictures of me and people who come in to my clubs, learning how to design & program my own webpage (which will probably never happen...I'll probably just end up paying someone to do it for me.), road trips, White Castle (but I can't have it now that I am dieting...), NATIONAL Coney Island (not this bullshit poser Coney Island here in Columbus...), University of Michigan Football, Basketball and Hockey, rollerblading, MYSPACE (f***ing more addicting than crack...), bowling, REDHEADS, SHORT GIRLS, ITALIANS (especially spicy Sicilians...), Rawdog Comedy on my Sirius sattelite radio, Sigma Phi Epsilon, drunk dialing, turntablism, artwork from friends, BAR Chicago, the Lodge Bar Columbus & Minneapolis, the city of Minneapolis, the city of DETROIT, Mission 19 (www.mission19.com), ebaumsworld.com, watching DVDs...I am sure I will think of more.

I'd like to meet:

...and hang out with Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., Joey Bishop & Peter Lawford: the Rat Pack and honestly, the essence of cool.

Music:

Being a DJ, it's tough to pinpoint a favorite song, but I will try: ANY sort of Progressive House music, N Dey Say by Nelly, Rich Girl by Gwen Stefani, Boucin' Off The Walls Again by Sugarcult, Scotty Doesn't Know by Lustra, Hush by LL Cool J, Save A Horse, Ride A Cowboy by Big & Rich, Be Faithful by Fatman Scoop & Crooklyn Clan, Jump Around by House of Pain, Wash Your Face in My Sink by the Dream Warriors, Boulevard of Broken Dreams by Green Day, Over And Over by Nelly & Tim McGraw, Anything Maroon 5, Just Lose It by Eminem, ANY Kriya vs. Velez remix (if you can find 'em, let me know where!), What Was I Thinkin' by Dierks Bentley, Drive Me Crazy by Kevin Lyttle, Mr. Mom by Lonestar, Breathe, Stretch, Shake by Mase, ANYTHING Toby Keith, ANYTHING Kenny Chesney, Nasty Girl by Nitty, Suds In The Bucket by Sara Evans, 1985 by Bowling for Soup, Let's Get Retarted by the Black Eyed Peas, Whiskey Lullaby by Allison Krause & Brad Paisley, Blackwater by the Doobie Brothers (& covered by Mission 19), Curbside Prophet & Remedy by Jason Mraz, Game Over by Lil' Flip, Culo by Pitbull, Redneck Woman by Gretchen Wilson, I'd Die Without You by P.M. Dawn, Blister In The Sun by the Violent Femmes, , Overnight Celebrity by Twista, Rock Your Body, Rock by Ferry Corsten, to name a few.Other artists would have to be Boomfunk MCs, SM Trax, the Potatoheads, IRS, CJ Stone, Lasgo, RACHEL AUBURN!, Moby, DJ Encore, The Killers, Sandy B, Spiritual Project, Armin Van Buuren, Jason Nevins, DJ Sammy, Voodoo & Serrano, Aquagen, Lock N' Load, Alice DeeJay, 4 Clubbers, Robert Miles, SAFRI DUO, Jonah, Basement Jaxx, The Porn Kings, Kosheen, 666, ATB, Benny Benassi, Gigi D'Agostino, William Orbit, DJ Jean, and Brooklyn Bounce.

Movies:

OCEAN'S ELEVEN, Swingers (You're so money and you don't even know it!), Rounders, Harry Potter Movies, Indiana Jones Movies, Tears of the Sun, A BRONX TALE, Eurotrip, the Blues Brothers, Miracle, the Real Cancun, Animal House, Corky Romano, Finding Nemo, REVENGE OF THE NERDS (Awww f**king GREAT!), Office Space, Super Troopers, Out Cold, The Day After Tomorrow, Slap Shot (f**kin' machine took my quarter!), Paulie, PCU, Old School, The Shawshank Redemption, Glory, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, National Lampoon's CHRISTMAS VACATION, 8 Mile, & Van Wilder.

Television:

I don't watch much TV because I usually get home from DJing around 4:00 in the morning - usually time for stupid ass infomercials. Ironically, those are good for putting drunks to sleep. I also always manage to find this kids show called 'Boobah' on PBS when I am deleriously hung over. Try it some time - you'll like it!. When I do watch TV, I watch Sportscenter, anything on the Travel Channel or about Las Vegas, PTI, Around the Horn, Pistons & Red Wings games, South Park, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Family Guy, American Dad, Survivor, the Food Network (damn my brother for getting me hooked on it...), CMT, the Real World (although it is getting hokey lately...), & the World Series of Poker.

Books:

Unfortunately, I have even less time to read. I am reading the 5th Harry Potter book right now, and I have cracked 'A People's History of the United States' by Howard Zinn, but he is like the Britney Spears of history writing. I would like to read up more on the history of my own hometown of Detroit, as well as read MORE THOROUGHLY the history books that I got in college. I have a whole case full of 'em. I'm so worthless... =)

Heroes:

My brother - doing what he loves AND he found a woman to settle down with & marry; My Mom & Dad - for being great role models for me and teaching me about the ways of the world and how to conduct yourself; my Grandfather (rest in peace - July 5th, 1919 - August 1, 2003) - for serving in the Army and being in the first wave onto Utah Beach in World War II - for fighting in something that he maybe didn't necessarily believe in, but for being part of something bigger than himself; the Armed Forces of this great country.
