It's all about perspective

I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

To sum me up in a nice little package, I would say I love to sleep, eat, talk, experience, cook, white water raft, create, learn, question, challenge, expand my mind, expand my limits, work out, analyze, counsel, love, laugh, joke, reflect, dream, hope, and have fun. Not necessarily in that order.I copied this off of a message on someone else's page. I thought it was worth sharing and something we could all learn from.SAND & STONETWO FRIENDS WERE WALKING THROUGH THE DESERT. DURING SOME POINT OF THE JOURNEY, THEY HAD AN ARGUMENT; AND ONE FRIEND SLAPPED THE OTHER ONE IN THE FACE.THE ONE WHO GOT SLAPPED WAS HURT, BUT WITHOUT SAYING ANYTHING, WROTE IN THE SAND:TODAY MY BEST FRIEND SLAPPED ME IN THE FACE.THEY KEPT ON WALKING, UNTIL THEY FOUND AN OASIS, WHERE THEY DECIDED TO TAKE A BATH.THE ONE WHO HAD BEEN SLAPPED GOT STUCK IN THE MIRE AND STARTED DROWNING, BUT THE FRIEND SAVED HIM.AFTER HE RECOVERED FROM THE NEAR DROWNING, HE W ROTE ON A STONE:"TODAY MY BEST FRIEND SAVED MY LIFE ".THE FRIEND WHO HAD SLAPPED AND SAVED HIS BEST FRIEND ASKED HIM, "AFTER I HURT YOU, YOU WROTE IN THE SAND AND NOW, YOU WRITE ON A STONE, WHY?"THE FRIEND REPLIED "WHEN SOMEONE HURTS US WE SHOULD WRITE IT DOWN IN SAND, WHERE WINDS OF FORGIVENESS CAN ERASE IT AWAY. BUT, WHEN SOMEONE DOES SOMETHING GOOD FOR US, WE MUST ENGRAVE IT IN STONE WHERE NO WIND CAN EVER ERASE IT."LEARN TO WRITE YOUR HURTS IN THE SAND AND TO CARVE YOUR BENEFITS IN STONE.THEY SAY IT TAKES A MINUTE TO FIND A SPECIAL PERSON, AN HOUR TO APPRECIATE THEM, A DAY TO LOVE THEM, BUT THEN AN ENTIRE LIFE TO FORGET THEM.DO NOT VALUE THE THINGS YOU HAVE IN YOUR LIFE, BUT VALUE WHO YOU HAVE IN YOUR LIFE !

Movies:

LOTR, Star Wars Trilogy, Awakenings, Transformers, The Notebook, Con Air, Jurassic Park, Rescuers, Little Mermaid, Lion King

Television:

TV? You mean that big thing that collects dust? The only TV I watch is what is on at the gym. But I do watch LOST when I can.

Books:

Lost World, Mary Shelley's Frankenstein, Jazz, 19th Century novels, Mask, Turbulent Mirror-anything without a 25 letter medical term in it that I need to understand

Heroes:

Those that are willing to step out of their safe zone and are not afraid to take chances or make mistakes. Those that risk for the chance to grow. Those that love selflessly. Those that are so sick and yet smile at me with their eyes, focus on what's right not wrong, and still say thank you. Those that do when others say they cannot. Those that smile in the face of opposition, and those that still believe in me when I have lost all belief in myself.

An excerpt from "Jazz" by Toni Morrison

"I laughed but before I could agree with the hairdressers that she was crazy, she said, 'What's the world for if you can't make it up the way you want it?' "'The way I want it?' "'Yeah.  The way ...

Would like your opinion-L's unofficial poll

Can men and women be 'just friends'?  Seriously.  Can a man and a woman be friends without one be attracted to the other on a "more than a friend" basis?  I believe it CAN happen, anyth...

Previous post

Upon further review, life is about perception, choices, and priorities.  I think the first step in not re-creating a history you don't like is becoming aware of it.  Ask those around you.&nb...

Sobering thought

I had a conversation earlier today with an ex-wife of my Father's.  Although it wasn't that long of a phone call, it had a resounding effect.  I loved my Father yet I do not want to be like ...

Whew!  I just got done shoveling snow off of the sidewalk.  Most of the snow off of most of the sidewalk is probably a better way of putting it.  That kinda was a bit of a pain.  N...
