BIOGRAPHY
Nailah "Janine" was born in the West Oaklane section of Philadelphia's urban streets. Growing up she was an avid and active member of Canaan Baptist Church where she sang on the choir for a number of years while also singing on choirs through her educational pilgrimage in Philadelphia's public school system. As Janine grew, so did her talent and interests. Privately writing poetry since the age of ten, Janine, known to us as Nailah, began to explore other options in the music field. Heavily inspired by acts from the Motown era such as The Jacksons, Temptions, the Supremes, and Stevie Wonder, Nailah found herself ever growing closer to her destiny as a musical artist, but not quite like the normal singer. Mixing a raw sex appeal with an objective view of the world, she found her spoken words could become more than mere words on a page. Growing and developing as and artist she tapped the Jamaican in her blood finding how to lace the riddims with her expanding styles. Nailah is an artist that's not afraid to test the limits of her abilities and imagination. This artist sings and recites poetry. The power of life, death and love are in the words we speak. The words that Nailah sings or speaks are of life. The loves. The victories. The loses. The in-betweens. Nailah means to be successful and that she will be, for she has a certain uncanny way of making you listen.

ABOUT ME

My nationality is a melting pot I'm English, Jamaican, Indian and Black. I love to write I listen to instrumentals 60 percent of the time it always keeps my mind working. I love to watch movies I have an enormous collection. I collect knives and japanese swords and hats. My influences are my mother and all of Motown, Floetry, Stacey Ladisol, Aerosmith, Patra, Shabba Ranks, the list goes on and on I don't have enough space. I look up to my manager because he believes in me even when I don't. I owe my ever touching the mic to Ceaz at Raesac Studios. There is no way of categorizing me because I'm trying everything and I always will musically. My hope is that even if it's only one sentence my lyrics will touch everyone.
