Originally from New York, but born in Madrid, Madd Mixx moved to Rome in 1985. Although he had been dabbling with music his whole life, his Dj career sparked in 2001 at a small disco-pub in Rome’s Historic Centre, when he realized the enormous deficit of Hip-Hop in Rome’s nightlife. His foray into the DJ scene was an immediate success with the international college students and young professionals of the Capital (then, he went by the name Matt D). He quickly became a highly requested DJ for private parties and special events. His smooth and dynamic mix of various different music genres allowed him to spin for crowds of all ages, at any location. It wasn’t long before Madd Mixx teamed-up with Alfredo Martinez, the most well-known organizer for Hip-Hop nights in Rome. Shortly after he was spinning at some of the Hip-Hop hot-spots in Rome such as: Art Cafè, Akab, Baja, Bloom, Babel, La Suite, Supper Club (affiliate of Amsterdam’s famous club), Goa, Joia and the American Embassy (Marine House).

As the Hip-Hop Scene in Rome has grown, so has Madd Mixx, adding practically every club in Rome to his curriculum… and developing his own hard-hitting style of rockin’ a crowd. This comes as no surprise, as he has had the opportunity to spin along side world renowned Artists and DJ’s such as: DJ Cash Money, DJ Revolution, Crooklyn Clan’s DJ Riz, DJ Jazzy Jeff, Haul & Mason, DJ Enferno (Featured in Madonna's 2008 Tour), DJ AM, Twilight Tone, DJ Kool, Fatboy Slim, DJ Baby Yu, Tony Humphries, Dj Spen, Frankie Knuckles, Giancarlino, Luis Radio, Chicco Messina, Crack-T, Big Ted, Mateo (Fun Lovin’ Criminals), Fat Joe, and many more, including most of Rome’s local talent.

Madd Mixx now spins many of his own remixes and is producing his first album with Thomas De Lorenzo (“Cafè del Mar” compilation artist) along with other debut appearances, due March 2009. He currently holds residencies at the top venues the Eternal City has to offer: Gilda and Babel (Art Cafè), as well as regular guest gigs in Sardegna, Germany & New York… bringing his “urban culture” to an art form across dance-floors world-wide.
