About Me
Best known as “The Party Kingâ€, DeeJay Mel was born in the place that most of us like to call the best home ever Dominican Republic on July 30, 1986. Being that he was born over there he didn’t see the New York Island till the age of 5. Raised in Manhattan (Washington Heights), his passion for music was amazing as he saw his father having a big roll in the music industry.
Being that when he came to New York, his parents moved into a big apartment, that was a big advantage for him. It all began when he started throwing his own house parties after going to a few and noticing that the music at the other parties would stop in between. So as he saw that, he realized and came to the conclusion that he wanted the music at his house parties to mix and blend without stopping.
At the age of 15 he asked his parents to buy him his first set of turntables for Christmas which would as we all say would be his ticket into the deejay movement. After receiving a brand new pair of turntables his drive to become one of the best was unstoppable. He would sit down and listen to deejays on the radio stations and analyze what was it that was making them who they are in the deejay movement.
After analyzing and understanding what it was exactly that he had to do, he began to practice every day at home. Being that he lived in the first floor and had a window facing the sidewalk was another big advantage, because as people walked by they would hear him spinning and notice just how much his skills were slowly becoming better day by day.
Being that he was a baseball player and was in the baseball team in high school, he was a very popular guy as he was one of the best in the team. So being that he was a very popular guy, it made his crowd huge and gave him the exposure he needed at the time to just be one of the best house party deejays. Once all this began he was booking gigs almost every weekend.
Little did he know his day to shine a club and rock out for the crowd was right around the corner. After joining forces with his friend/brother before business partner DeeJay Will, they were both working together and strongly entertaining the people with the music that they wanted to hear. Together him and DeeJay Will were unstoppable and knew exactly what type of music to play for the crowd where ever they were at.
Then the day came for him and DeeJay Will to work their first gig at a club, Eclipse. “Finally all the hard work has paid off†he stated. Together they rocked out their first club scene party and the crowd and the owner of the club enjoyed the music so much that they earned the positions that till this day they have of being the House DeeJays for what is known now as Red Lounge.
Now at the age of 22 The Party King has rocked out at many venues such as O lounge, Eros Lounge, Eclipse Night Club, Melodias, Xbar, Skyline Café, Ambaroom, Coco Bongos, Déjà vu, and Jetset Café just to name a few. He has also rocked out at many colleges and universities such as Burlington Community College, Pace University, Columbia University, Queens Community College, Union College, Suny Albany, and many other institutes of higher learning.
Some of Deejay Mel’s influences growing up and entering the Deejay Movement were and are Deejay Alex Sensation, Deejay Lobo, Deejay Enuff, Deejay Precise, DeeJay Mad, etc. just to name a few. They inspired him to keep his dream of becoming a professional deejay alive, and till this day Deejay Mel is taking any opportunities and taking on all obstacles to keep that dream alive and made himself the promise of making himself one of the best, and has kept that promise to himself day by day for the last 7 years.
Now he has joined forces with a new movement of deejays called MixMastaz Deejays, which consists of friends/brothers before business partners; Deejay Will, Deejay EzE, Deejay Crack, Deejay TreyNice, DeeJay Cinco, and 7Dias7Noches own Deejay Kc Chino. MixMastaz was established on July 21, 2008 and has been kept strong and alive by all members of the group as well as The Party King, together they all aspire of being the best and bringing not only the name MixMastaz to the top but bringing each other to the top together.
“I believe that to make it in this movement you have to put all your effort into it and make sure that you fully understand what this movement is all about, because I know what is all about and I’m a pro at this†says The Party King.
Stay on the look out for DeeJay Mel and the rest of the MixMastaz DeeJays, as they are becoming a bigger movement or as they say “congress†day by day. To listen and stay updated on new and upcoming events, mixes, mixtapes, and other merchandise, log on to
