Guitarist for the band VLS, check out the bands myspace page or get the CD at www.cdbaby.com/vls.began playing guitar where I grew up in Grass Valley Ca. in the late 80's. With the assistance of my first guitar teachers and support from my parents, I was in love with playing guitar from the beginning. Like most, I began playing in high school bands with friends and later in the Sacramento scene throughout the 90's and in the 2000's. After working in music retail for several years, I began to pursue my love of teaching private guitar lessons. I currently teach approximatly 50 students per week. Forever the student I continue to pursue music studies in both college courses and taking private lessons when my busy schedule allows. I have a high regard for all types of music and musicians of various styles. A rocker at heart, my main influence has always been Randy Rhoads. I even took lessons where Randy taught privately at Musonia School of Music in Los Angeles. The lessons did not come from Rhoads himself, but former students of his. His mom Delores became a close friend back in ’86. She is an amazing person. Other influences and faves are Gary Moore, John Sykes, Paul Gilbert, Ywngie Malmsteen, Dimebag Darrell and others. I dig all types of music, but tend to gravitate to music that is heavy and technically proficient. Really into Symphony X, old Queensryche, Trans Siberian Orchestra, ect. I am very passionate about Flamenco guitar and classical as well. If I could do it all over again, I think I would move to Spain for a few years and study with some old Flamenco guru! No regrets though. I just love to play. If it were about the money I would have quit years ago. The music business is unfortunately only about 5% music and 95% business. You have to really love that 5% by giving it your 100%. My greatest accomplishment is my son, Logan. My sun rises and sets around him. I believe in God, the right to bear arms, the freedom we have in this country is the greatest, that Elvis is in fact dead and that I could eat sushi every day and not get sick of it. Thanks for stopping by.
