The group consists of TAD THE PEOPLE’S POET, NATHAN LEE AND MR SHIVER....plus a variety of other collaborators.. but these aforementioned 3 are the nucleus of the project...For those of you not in the know - here is some info about these 3 and what they have been involved in before COTS was formed...TAD THE PEOPLES POET (or The Millenium Griot) - is one of the truest faces in London... A hip hop veteran who has worked with a number of acts from the Unsung Heroes to Layo and Bushwacka!.. as well as djing in practically every club that the Europe has to offer!!!NATHAN LEE (Fester) - The originator of the legendary 'flute box' technique - where somehow he manages to play the flute and do the 'human beat box' at the same time - In his own words he makes really good soup and Love too - but is also 'hard as nails' - a lover of Jazz and Indian Raga - Nathan has just got back from Bristol where he was in the studio with Fierce and D-Bridge (Bad Company) - other recent collaborations also include The Prodigy, Ed-Rush and Optical and many, many gigs with the Asian Dub Foundation & the Sonik Gurus too!!!!MR SHIVER - one half of production crew Unsung Heroes – hasn’t just made hip hop beats for Mc's to spit on - but also looked after Turntable duties for DanMass and Izzi Dunn and even co-produced an LP for African Legend Tony Allen!!!!!Individually - each one of these artists is undeniably talented but together they are definitely greater than the sum of the separate parts...All their music is written/based on material that was improvised during the course of live jams.... SO, as exciting and fresh as their material is - it is in the live arena that COTS really show what they can do.... Spontaneous, organic music!!!!!! (Just playing with sound really!!!!!!!!!)AUTUMN UPDATEThe Children Of The Sound's first EP (The Peace And Love And More Of The Above EP) has been hailed as a great sucsess by people from all walks of life from ravers to priests alike!!!. In September 2005 it was chosen to be featured in an advert for the Motorala Rockr, "the Itunes phone" the first mobile phone designed for and by Itunes. It was the first advert to be put directly into a phone itself, 50,000 phones!!!. In November Nathan and Tad were asked to appear on a new prime time MTV show, Barrier 19, to be shown in 80 countries worldwide in summer 2006. In May 2006 the COTS new single was chosen for an advert for the new Motorola Silver phone, another 30,000 phones. This autumn sees the COTS back on the all to familiar dj circuit under the name "Children Of The Soundsystem!!!" Also it finds them readying their stage show, to take on tour summer 2007, featuring the electricity of a Hip Hop show ie; Kanye West, The Fugees or The Roots, the Improvisational skill of a Jazz show ie; Miles Davis, Roland Kirk or Mathew Herbert's Big Band, with all the LOVE and madness of your favorite festival.
