About Me

genis zamanda duraksamalar, melankolik makinalar, betonun kalbi ve çöl.
Cihan Baris was born in Ankara Turkey. A musician of 20+ years, he has devoted his life to music and sound, and has been a part of a multitude of projects fullfilling such roles as guitarist, keyboards, bass, production, composing and songwriting. Cihan is temporarily back in Istanbul from Los Angeles after a 12 years of absence. Aside from his solo works including live performances, he is currently working on songwriting and production projects for other artists, as well as composing for tv, film and commercials.
After growing up in the United States, Cihan found himself in the middle of the rising tide of Rock and Heavy music in Turkey in the late 80’s. He was a founding member/guitarist of one of the first and well respected thrash metal bands of its time, Presage. Early 90’s brought such bands as “Second Realm”, “Monkey Business” and “Absent Without Leave” and his guitar playing earned him much respect. He has worked with artists such as Pamela, Ozlem Tekin and Ogun Sanlisoy.
After relocating to Los Angeles in 1994, he has graduated from Musicians Institute and UCLA studying guitar and business. Late 90’s he has worked with Demir Demirkan on a mutual project called EWI fullfilling bass and songwriting duties. He has also completed his first solo EP “Music of the Spheres” in 1999. The new millenium brough a new project, the local Los Angeles band Revolve. The bands debut album was released in 2005, and Cihan played the important role of keyboards shaping Revolve’s much acclaimed sound. After departing from the band, Cihan has returned back to his solo work, and has completed the follow up to his debut EP with his new full lenght album “iseenoi”.

Digital Critique Review

CIHAN - Music of the Spheres Cihan's music is elegant, haunting, so painfully digitally NOW and oh so gaspingly melancholic it makes me want to cry. Fragile, his first track, starts off a tad...
