About Me

Ring the bells that still can ring
Forget your perfect offering
There is a crack, a crack in everything
That's how the light gets in.
-- Leonard Cohen
I'm a work-from-home, Coca-Cola addicted Georgia native. Reading is my preferred pastime. I love discovering new music, art, authors, and ideas. I'm a product and pop culture junkie. (I wish there was a way to earn a living off the knowledge of useless entertainment trivia!) I'm a big movie buff. I love going to the cinema and I can spend the day watching classic movie marathons on TV. Or watching old television series marathons (did I mention I'm also a TV junkie?). As for other activities, I enjoy watching tennis, ice skating, and golf (I know, I can't believe it either!) on (of course) TV, but my ice skates rusted long ago and now I only play tennis (badly). I can't cook to save my soul, though it's a goal to learn (maybe I should watch more Food Network?), but I'm a good baker. I'm currently practicing guitar (almost) every day. I love to travel and learn languages. Autumn is my favorite time of year. I love the crisp breezes, fall colors, and hint of melancholy in the air.

Everyone is suddenly asking you, "Are you in love?" and all you have to say is, "Yes in fact I am in love--with snails and poems and pastry flour and a cloud shaped like Mozart's ponytail and Lyle Lovett's voice and my nephew's big toe and the smell of fresh sheets and the squish of wet earth in the garden and the way I feel singing Etta James on my bicycle on a spring day--but other than that, no, not really."-- Three Black Skirts

My Interests

Keep it loose, keep it tight

It's official. I'm a lazy blogger. It's been awhile, but this blog is a loose roundup of some shows I've seen since the last time I blogged and the music that was the soundtrack to my spring and summe...

Let's get down and freaky, baby: the Paolo Nutini show

I was watching TV back in January--actually not really watching, only listening with half an ear to a late-night talk show--when all of a sudden my head snapped up and I gave full attention to the mus...

A friend to the wind and the sky's my home: Bo's on the road again!

A four-hour drive to the venue. Seven hours standing on concrete. An overnight hotel stay. All on relatively short notice. Who else would I do this for? Yeah, it's kinda crazy, but so much fun! I didn...

John Legend and Ray LaMontagne at the Tabernacle

No, not together. (Wouldn't that have been some show?) Though I don't make new year's resolutions anymore (and the year is not so new anymore), I resolve to blog about more than music concerts this ye...

Come back to the Variety Playhouse, Amos Lee, Amos Lee . . . So long, Jimmy

Two weeks ago, I went to see Amos Lee in concert. I've been meaning to write about it, but life got crazy. Actually, it was a strange set of events that led up to my being at the Amos Lee show at all....

Marc Broussard concert

I went to see Marc Broussard in concert last night. He's a soulful singer with funky little dance moves and a strut. I saw him perform for the first time last December. He was the opening act for Bonn...
