Lyndon Bridge Studio, established 2004, in secluded Prophetstown, IL is located near the historic Lyndon Bridge spanning the scenic Rock River. This isolated haven provides a place where an artist can create with minimal distractions and pressures. The studio is dedicated to working with emerging artists as well as those pursuing to keep moving forward. We hope to offer our service as a means to continually enrich a music scene full of talent and offer a stepping stone for artists to reach people with their material. Our mission is to not only make great recordings but to make great MUSIC~ always at a very fair price!
The main "live" room at Lyndon Bridge is called the "Pine Room". It boasts beautiful 125 year old wood floors for great live sound. We can also "tune the room" with our system of modular curtains and sound baffles to form any type of sound environment. An isolation booth is also available.
Lyndon Bridge is a Digidesign Pro Tools certified 32 track digital studio. Our Digidesign hardware has been modified by Black Lion Audio of Chicago for an unparalleled digital recording experience. It’s all powered by a custom computer designed for recording music, capable of 24bit, 96k recording quality. Our microphones are various models of Shure, CAD, Senheiser, AKG, Audix, EV and Custom Modified Apex. The mics are routed into high end professional Geoff Daking Class A Discrete preamps. These preamps are modeled in the tradition of the great vintage Neve and Trident consoles of the 70's. Almost all the great classic albums you know and love were recorded with this type of preamp. They are warm with unbelievable clarity and precision.
If musicians cannot hear themselves play or sing then all the nice equipment in the world won't capture a great performance! That's where our Yorkville/Alto 6 way monitor system comes in, allowing up to 6 musicians to have their own monitor mix.
The studio's piano is a vintage 1920’s Hobart M. Cable spinet providing great tone and tons of character (in a good way)! We've been known to use the piano not only for piano tracks but it’s natural tuned reverb for some incredibly HUGE drum sounds (think Zeppelin or Queen, pretty cool)! Various guitar and bass rigs are always available. We also have a vast assortment of vintage Ludwig drums along with Yamaha and Taye kits available for rent.
If you are a solo artist in need of musicians, we can take care of that too! We have access to the finest session musicians in the area.
Music made here at Lyndon Bridge is currently being played on over 200 independent and college radio stations as well as being used in TV shows on MTV, VH1, Lifetime and Oxygen networks!
