It started back when i was in 2nd grade, 1995ish let's say. I remember my mom working at Blockbuster Video and renting me Mega Man 2, just so i could have something to do when i got home from school. I played, and played, and played. Never really paying attention much to the music, but it was always there, and catchy as SARS. I played the rest of the games in the classic NES series (MM1-6) and enjoying them all very much.
FASTFOREWARD 10 years. It's 2005, i'm 17 years old and browsing the internet. I discover a little band called the Minibosses and listen to their 9 minute track, "Mega Man 2," a medley of a bunch of tracks from, that's right, Mega Man 2. Let's just say, that song basically changed my life. I quickly found Protoman.com and downloaded all of the soundtracks to see if the songs were indeed that aweome. AND THEY WERE. How could i have missed them? I found out about other bands who've covered video game songs, mainly Mega Man songs. Other artists include NESkimos , The Advantage , Mash Pad, Entertainment System, Year 200X, Stage 3-1 , among others.
And here we are now in 2006. I've finally recorded some covers (with the help of Power tab, and Audacity recording software), in addition to my Gibson SG guitar, Dean Edge Bass, Yamaha PSS-170 keyboard, and one of the shittiest computer microphones in existence. I'm thinking about downloading a program that'll let me throw some drum tracks into the mix. I'll get to that eventually. I'm learning new songs all the time, and i'll try to get them up to make the community happy. Thanks for reading all of that if you did.
