Tony B. has become a legend in his home state of West Virginia, performing locally, distributing two albums independently, and opening for national recording artists. He signed with the Nocahoma record label in 2006 and is currently working on his first full-length album.
Writing since he was a child, Tony first took the stage in 2002 and was soon making waves on the hip-hop scene with his first EP, “Reality CD.†Produced and recorded with funds from gigging, the album sold well on the underground due to strong word of mouth and energetic live shows.
Having been raised in a working-class household has allowed Tony B. to connect with his audience in a way many artists can’t, or won’t. His songs tell the story of the average man trying to care for his family the best way he knows how. This every-man, positive message, transcends the traditional hip-hop demographic, appealing to Americans from all walks of life.
After signing with Nocahoma Tony went straight to work on his second EP, “From My Block 2 Yours.†Local critics praised the album, noting its maturity and depth, while fans, eager for new material, snatched up the first pressing almost overnight.
Following this success, Tony B. was invited to open for the Gold Album selling group D4L for their New Year’s Eve 2006 concert. This meeting led to a collaboration with D4L’s Stuntman on the song “How You Luv That,†which is currently in heavy rotation on several stations.
