???Who is David Gage???
As a child, a very passionate and widely visible dream was noticed at his age of 6. The dream, to entertain and work with people in and out of the music industry for as long as he could get away with it, playing music. He decided to pick up a pair of drumsticks and make it happen. This dream do to his aspiration, determination, and inner spirit will hopefully take him far.
David, a profound "New Age Percussionist" picked up a pair of sticks when he was 6 and has not put them down yet! He began getting lessons way back in the day, (grade school), on a snare drum, learning his basic rudiments, reading, writing and so on...Eventually, In Middle School, he hopped on a set and fell in love...That's How it began!
Through Middle School, 8th grade, he joined jazz band and started playing with State Orchestra, local Jazz bands, and formed his first "garage band," The Gauged, which also can still be heard today. www.myspace.com/thegauged. From there, David went to marching in, Eagles Landing High School Band (Class A), and decided he was going to pursue music, as a career for the rest of his life studying a variety of instruments along with majoring in the art of Percussion. After graduation (w/ honors) at Sparta High School, David has done nothing less than practice and follow his dream every day since!
Laying down back-beats for all styles of music live on stage, with his amazing energy and charma felt no matter how big the venue or audience, he carries on pursuing his dream to become a studio musician or just a touring artist, sharing his gift to the world in any way possible.
Accomplishments being, All State Percussionist 2002 and 2004, Regional All State Winner in 2004, (Latin) Battle of the Bands Solo Artistic Creativity Award in 2003, and has been in Underground bands such as, ThE GAuGeD and Down-Shift. Currently a freelance fill in musician for many local bands across the Mid-West.(Turn The Page, Hollowpoint) This, including Touring 2 years with IV4K (I Voted for Kodos), David has his hands full. Due to some band and family issues, IV4K will be breaking for a period of time in which each member will pursue his dream in any way or manner they see fit.
For David, Ugly Beauty & Missing Tomorrow are the 2 bands he has his eye on. They are both and amazing group of musicians, striving for perfection and amazing energetic performances with there culturally diverse people. In the Studio Now!!!
