My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Art does not reproduce the visible; rather, it makes visible. Paul Klee

Luciano’s drawings. The marker ball, arched like the tensed bodies of his characters. The faces forget to look at us but steal our own gaze. Bodies covered with small coloured stickers that get displayed on our pupils. And in turn they irrefutably shift our organized neuronal system. Skin, muscle & bones get frozen into impossible postures, and space vibrates in a sustained tension.
From a distance you must have noticed rectangles filled up with pigment on ridiculous walls. You understand that the color spreads gently on the strands of paper. You start learning the subject: from who knows where, bodies and faces were hosting on silly pieces of paper. In getting closer the figures seem less interested in you. Hanging on the wall they have a conversation between themselves that does not concern you. They talk about the possibility that everybody has to ignore anyone else and hence they ignore you. They talk about their misery, the poverty of their social relations and the extreme poverty of their sexuality. We feel that these invading thoughts living in most of us: eating, sleeping, clothing, working, go shopping and go to the restaurant, biking, paying the bills, have probably never been experienced by them or in any case, have fallen into a deep oblivion. These beings seem to live with their hands near their sex to offer us the only spectacle they seem to worry about. In the meticulous exploration of their bodies they rummage into the conscience of us all.

Commentaries more often obscure an Artwork than lighten its true value.

On an almost unique format (paper 16 x 24cm), with limited means (Letraset marker), Luciano gave life to a people that nourishes itself with human feelings. The line is simples. A luminous colour dr...
