This a little something Eric wrote that explains a little bit of what we're about:Escape Civilization: This is one of Basslands core and founding event series. The 'Escape Civilization' series encapsulates the reasons of why we started, and why we continue to produce events for you (and ourselves).It is about the idea that we all need to 'escape' the restraints and confines (mental and physical) of modern day society. It is about creating an environment without prejudice, where people can express themselves how they see fit regardless of race/creed/spirital (or non) spiritual background.It is about producing low to no cost events for you. I believe we have only charged for one event. Ever.It is about bring you HIGH CALIBRE talent. Ask anyone who has ever attended one of our shows. We book DJ's who not only KNOW what they are doing, but also LOVE what they are doing, and they do it from their heart- Not for their Pocketbook. We believe that if a DJ is there for the sake of having just as much fun as you are (oh, and we do) that it will make the event that much more synergistic and full of energy. No, we typically do not bring "headline" DJ's (we may), and sometimes you may not even recognize a name or two (or three, or four) that appear on our flyers; but you can be rest assured, that if we selected them, then they are worth your time to listen to.It is also about gettin' pissed off your 'arse, and just having a fucking great time with your mates. That's what it really comes down to. And keg stands at 5am. And smokin' cigarettes in the teachers bathroom.Eric*
