Well........? I'm not a "band" really. I'm like a one-man drumming train-wreck that somehow comes out sounding like somethin' fluid. Yeah. don't ask me.. I have no idea how that happened either...............
I play in a couple bands right now, and also do as many freelance side sessions as I can fit in schedule-wise as well. Check out the pages of the bands I am playing with now. They are in my top friends here on MySpace. 1) kosmos .... 2) Dave Boylan
Influences: First off... no matter who you support (or even if you could care less), you MUST exercise your rights and vote. People die just trying to get the chance to vote, and here in America...we'd rather couch surf and watch CNN to see who won. Shutup... and just go vote. :I am influenced by so many different people, both drummers and not. I think it's all about inspiration and what inspires you. Some drummers & people who have affected me and my style directly though are: Tony Thompson (and the many other funk drummers of that era), Omar Hakim, Terry Bozzio, Manu Katche, Dave Weckl, Josh Freese, Danny Carey, Mark Heron, Stewart Copeland, Deepak Chopra, ... etc. I subscribe to the belief that it's not about what you say and play... it's more about what you don't that has the greatest impact (yeah I am not just referring to drumming). I am in awe of how both Matt Cameron and Mark Heron can play odd times with such fluidity and grace (if you're not a drummer I am sure that makes NO sense...) I play a drum kit made by an AMAZING company out of Sacramento, CA called Rocket Shells. It's a small homegrown company that works solely in custom carbon fiber kits that will just tear your head off (without sacrificing even an ounce of warmth and sensitivity). Check them out on MySpace at http://myspace.com/rocketshellsdrums , or on their website at http://www.rocketshells.com . I have played a LOT of different drums and nothing.. NOTHING even comes close to these. ALSO- Please check out http://shellkey.net
Sounds Like: someone falling down the stairs... uhm, "in time" and stuff.
