I am me. No more, no less. Mom of three, wife, friend, poet, web mistress wanna-be, basket case. Days spent running an office, then driving kids from here to there and back again. Nights spent watching movies, listening to music, hanging out, cooking, cleaning and so on. Once in a while I get the occasional night out on the town. More often I get a glorious afternoon at a Cal football game. (GO BEARS!) Gothy on the inside, room parent/team mom/girl scout leader on the out, but always just a little stranger than the others... ;)
Since 1987-ish I have been proud to run the Human Drama mailing list/fan club. I've been working with/for Johnny for the last 20 years, doing everything from walking the streets flyering the entire town back in the day, to compiling the lyric book, doing newsletters, email lists, fan club stuff, merchandise sales, research, booking, and just about anything else you can think of. I've had a lot of help over the years from some of my very best friends (especially she who lives in my top 8 forever and starts with a "J" and ends with an "ork") and I've made a lot of new and great friends in fellow HD fans thoughout the years. It's been an honor and a privelege and has helped me to feel creative when the humdrum life of being "just a mom" starts bringing me down.
Now that Human Drama has called it quits, I sometimes miss the busy days of pasting up flyers and handing out passes and all of that fun. But, as the new work with the new project - Sound of the Blue Heart begins, I'm excited about all that the future will bring, both to Johnny/Sound of the Blue Heart, and maybe even for me. If you're here anyway, visit the SOTBH myspace and add them to your friends. www.myspace.com/soundoftheblueheart. You won't be sorry you did!
I've also started working with another amazing new band called Avenue in Oceania. If you haven't heard them yet, you should check them out soon too, and tell them Megan sent you! www.myspace.com/avenueinoceania.
Someday I hope to quit my "day job" and figure out something that I really like to do and can get paid for. For now though, I just do my best to fill my "free time" as best as I can with things that make me feel like in the end I'll be able to say I mattered. You know what they say about idle hands...
You're Bauhaus, the grandfather's of goth. You
probably don't call yourself a goth...but that
just makes you cooler. Nice boots, by the way
