About Me

At the risk of another flurry of marriage/romance requests from foreign men, I guess it's time to fill this out. Either that or delete, soo..I am ok. If you know me, you will usually like me. Occasionally people (ok, ok - it's really only women) will decide they hate me, but not ones who really know me. Sometimes I am funny and sometimes I am not. I like to read, sew, groove-it with friends, movies, playing in my garden, music etc etc. I am a parent and that is pretty much my main focus. But.. I am also working towards a professional designation in Accounting. Actually I am taking a break from it for a year or so while I increase my sewing skills and look into design school. Time will tell...anything could happen!

My Interests

I am curious about just about anything. I love textile arts, be it fashion design, quilting, embroidery. I just think fabric presents a really interesting medium. I like the idea of taking a traditional 'craft' medium and creating something untraditonal with it (like a quilt with tattoo imagery). I love to read. I am always curious about people and how they think, what motivates them. We are all so bizarre when you get right down to it, aren't we?

I'd like to meet:

Mostly I am only adding people I acutally know to my 'friends' but I am interested in meeting poeple who are like-minded. By that I mean people who are persuing their goals and still like to go-out and get-down (and sometimes not). There is an understanding between parents that is undeniable, so other single parents who have retained their hip-ness. If you want to start a dialogue with me, send me a message. I ignore friend requests from people I don't know.

Music:

Variety!QUOTSA; Curtis Mayfield; Madonna; Breeders; Zen Guerilla; Fu Manchu; Supersuckers; Mozart; White Stripes; Foo Fighters; and more and more and more.

Books:

I love to read. Do it everyday. The last book I read was Prodigal Summer by Barbara Kingsolver. It was a re-read and worth every minute. It is a gorgeous novel.

Heroes:

My son, Spencer. He is stark raving mad, and he is my favourite person.
