About Me

I'm an easily amused idiot. I'm a socially inept, highly judgmental* liberal with an uber-conservative (minus the religion thing) lifestyle, and that's the absolute truth. I'm a ton of fun ;)

Ok, really, what can I say? I'm a mom. I used to be lots of other things, but I traded them in for my mommy magic skills - you know, eyes in the back of my head and the ability to fix boo-boos with a kiss and a band-aid... that kind of thing :) My kids are my life. They're the cutest, sweetest, most brilliant girls a mom could ever ask for. I also have the best husband in the world. I'm pretty sure he annoys the hell out of most people, but anyone who truly knows me knows that I'm exactly like him. Our match works splendidly.
I spend a lot of my time doing home improvement projects... I think it keeps my technical self sane - being a SAHM isn't as intellectually stimulating as one might think ;) We just moved into a house that was built in the '80s and is in serious need of updates, so I should have enough to stay busy for the next five years or so (expect to see lots of pictures!)
Like most people, I love to travel. I don't often get to travel (remember that mom thing I mentioned earlier?) but it's still something I like. And, I love airports. Yes, airports - even with their massive security and long lines and general annoyances. They provide the perfect blend of people and time - you can meet almost anyone in an airport and have some of the most fascinating conversations.
I suppose I could continue blathering on and on about pointless stuff, but if you really want to know more about me, just ask. Oh, and I'm an INTP, so it's not really my fault if I come across as cold and distant and kind of "out there" - blame psychology! ;) You can read more about my personality type here . I think it's a pretty accurate description.
* In my defense, I've gotta admit that the judgmental thing mostly just applies to stupidity, inconsistent behavior/beliefs, and lack of responsibility... and most certainly has nothing to do with race, religion, or sexual orientation, per se. Just to clarify ;)

My Interests

my girls, my hubby, sewing (that's a new one), and extreme home improvement projects (if you want to know, just ask). That's all I've got for now, but I'm working on it!

I'd like to meet:

How can I say who I'd like to meet if I haven't met them yet?

The center of my world:

Music: This song: it's good. It would be impossible for me not to like it! (Although it'd be nice if it were the whole song.)

And now the standard rant: it's always bugged me when a loud annoying song starts playing as I try to check out someone's profile, but this particular loud annoying song makes me happy. Don't assume the lyrics tell the meaning of my life or express my views on the world. They don't... well, maybe they do, but that's not the intention.

Images:
"Hello" guy comes from freecodesearch.com . I'll take full credit for the background (can't really blame anyone else for it). That image is hosted by Flickr.com .

Music:

I still listen to all the old crap from the 90's. There's some new stuff that's decent, but I don't know names.... :)

Movies:

I haven't seen a good one in a while, but I could watch Bend it Like Beckham and the Harry Potter movies anytime.

Television:

30 Rock, MythBusters, South Park, Project Runway, Psych, and Monk... I think that covers it! :)

Books:

Well, I finally caught the Harry Potter bug. I loved the movies, and the books are ten times better!

I'm also really into Christopher Moore right now (Lamb amused me)

Other favorites throughout time: The Poisonwood Bible, THGTTG series, A Clockwork Orange, Catch-22, A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man, Those Who Save Us, the list goes on...

Syrinx (neat MRI pics)

The results are in! I have a tiny pocked of fluid in the middle of my spinal cord - not very interesting. It makes a great excuse to post neat-o MRI pictures, though! (Admit it, you'd do the same thin...
