About Me

My Interests

Interests? Hm. Anything to do with the outdoors. Hiking, backpacking, rock-climbing, camping.. I love motorcycles even though I'm..between bikes..as it were. I miss riding so much! I'm interested in having an insanely clean car and taking care of my new ride. Um.. I'm very interested in passing all my classes at UNM (LoL), working on becoming an officer, and retiring from the army is a big interest for me! 19 years to go! Other than that... well.. I love this state and it's beautiful mountains and desert. There's noplace quite like home. That's...what I've got to say about that.

Music:

Music.. A little of everything. Some of my favorite bands are Alkaline Trio, Third Eye Blind, Bush, American Hi-Fi, Eve6, Fuel.. Gin Blossoms.. I could go on for a while. I got really into the 90s alt/rock/grunge scene, and just..fell in love with the sound. I like a lot of new bands, a lot of old bands, but I guess there's just a..sound..I love. I like a lot of classic rock too, a lot of techno..Jazz and blues are wonderful.. I love going to concerts, especially at places like Sunshine Theater, The Launchpad.. Journal Pavillion. There's something really powerful about seeing live music.

Movies:

Movies.. I love the ones that really make you think..when you don't really know what's gonna happen next, and especially the ones where the good guy dosen't always get the girl, or he gets dragged through hell to get there. When it's more like life. Some of my favorites have been "Lost in Translation" "Cruel Intentions" "Girl Next Door" (Unrated), "Eurotrip" (Unrated), "Van Wilder", "Wicker Park" "The Virgin Suicides" and "Talk To Her".. I have this love for the dark comedy, Film Noir.. the obscure but amazing movies..and the occasional lighthearted, if not slightly adult-themed comedy..but generally, the sort Madstone played before that theater closed down. (Grr..I miss that place.)

Television:

Hm..honestly don't watch it that much. If you ever do catch me infront of the 'tube, I'm usually watching Overhaulin', or American Chopper, NASCAR and AMA racing. Sometimes offroad racing, sometimes motocross, supercross, sometimes roadracing. I love some of the less restrictive racing classes like Supercar, Classic Car, (The Classic Car Races at Laguna Seca are somethin' else.. LoL. Wow.) Touring Car, GT1 & GT2, but I also love Formula 1. Danica Patrick rocks! That girl is sooo hot..AND..she drives an F1 car. LoL. I dunno.. 2 and 4 wheeled machines just..fascinate me. So if I'm watching TV, it's more likely than not some kind of car or motorcycle show.

Books:

Favorite books.. hm.. I read a lot of nonfiction. Books about stuff that really happened, people's experiences, like Flags of Our Fathers, We Were Soldiers Once, And Young.. I also like the suspenseful novel you can't seem to put down..but I'm not a real bookworm. If I get the opportunity to read a really good book, I'll generally do it over a couple sittings..or bring it with me everywhere I go over the course of a week.

Heroes:

Hm.. My grandfather's always played a huge role in how I try to shape myself. When I start to lose sight of my goals and really start slipping downhill, I think about how he would have reacted, what he would have said or done, and 9 times out of 10, that gives me the strength and cool head to get back up and reason my way through life, no matter what it throws at me. In fact, I would say that following in my grandfather's footsteps are one of the greatest reasons I chose to voulenteer for military service.
